The Warehouse is New Zealand’s largest General Merchandise Retailer with an outsourcing office based in Shanghai. Due to our fast expansion, we are now looking for high calibre candidates to join our team in Shanghai.

Key Responsibilities:

The Package Designer will pride key design and production support to suppliers and buyers by designing cartons that are used in the packaging of end use customer products, primarily hard Goods& Garments products.

·         Responsible for concept through directing production of an assignment. Projects include: package redesign, new tier introductions and line extensions. Design requests are also involved.

·         Create drawings and specifications for new structural packaging components working with merchandiser and Merchandiser Manager through the development and approval process.

·         Ensure projects are completed in a timely manner and according to the provided schedule.

·         Work with the suppliers, merchandiser, and merchandiser manager to resolve issues with non-conforming materials.

·         Track, manage and provide reports on all packaging projects. Identify needed areas of improvement, as well as successes in improving costs and productivity

·         Responsible for the layout design and production activities to produce quality design work.

·         May have contact with ***/suppliers/buyers to verify packaging specifications

·         Confers with soft goods and hard goods team as well as buyers to determine packing requirements for all kinds of products.

Work with the Soft goods and hard goods team to develop unique, high quality winning packaging.

• NZ buyers

Key Performance Indicators:

 

• Bachelor’s degree in a packaging field or technical degree with comparable related work experience as a package designer.
• Arties CAD, photoshop experience

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
• Experience in operating sample table cutting devices
• Good at English both in written and spoken
• Able to handle multi tasks and possess a high level of initiative and integrity.

General Requirements:

• At least 5 years working experienced in Package Design area.
• Rich knowledge of automated packaging equipment
• Experience with shipment tests, stacking and retail requirements
• Strong proble solving skills.
• Good communications skills and capability to interact effectively at all levels.
• Good personality with patience
• Attention to detail.
