Job Description:

One of the strategic priorities in KPMG’s current 5 year plan is the deployment of technology to enhance client service delivery, improve internal processes and take new solutions to market.. This transformational Solutions Delivery initiative will optimize our foundation technology by simplifying delivery, access and utilization of core technology services. As a senior application architect within our Architecture team, you will be responsible for driving shared service initiatives defining solution architecture and providing technical guidance to development teams in implementing solutions. The application architect role is a key technical leadership role contributing to architecture practice and building enterprise wide shared solutions aligned with enterprise digital strategy.

The candidate will work closely with the business analysts, solution project manager, functional SME, solution owner, data and security architects. The candidate must be able to balance the need for providing agile solutions to business in alignment with strong central governance of standards and practices.

This is primarily architecture and design role with ability to do proof of concepts to validate approaches.

- Provide technical and thought leadership in system integration and solution development promoting best practices 

- Deliver end to end solution architecture for programs, project or products across multiple channels such as web, mobile and desktop 

- Define architectural artifacts such as conceptual architecture, logical architecture, integration architecture, process flows, etc. to articulate solution design 

- Perform design responsibilities for each integration scenario to gain the best performance, reusability and maintainability 

- Perform current state assessments, target state and transition architecture aligned to phased implementation approaches 

- Define standards, patterns and best practices promoting enterprise architecture strategy 

- Contribute in defining enterprise technology strategy and socialize across the enterprise 

- Work across different architecture disciplines such as platform, data, business and infrastructure 

- Lead and guide technical delivery teams during SDLC/Scrum/Agile from project initiation to deployment

- Define and implement proof of concepts for proving new technologies and/or architecture patterns at enterprise level 

Experience and Qualifications:

- Project experience on e-commerce system(B2B2C) design & development

- Be proficient on application and data model design using UML

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Services, Business or equivalent experience

- 8-10 years of building high performing, resilient and scalable web, cloud and mobile solutions 

- Must have strong knowledge and experience in design and implementing technology solutions

- Strong architectural knowledge with expertise in design patterns and integration architecture 

- Expertise in architecting across all solution layers – UI, middle tier and data tier 

- Required expertise in implementing solutions in multiple languages such as .NET, Java and Python 

- Expert in current software design practices including; API driven development, mobile first development, pattern based design, cloud ready applications, micro services architecture, etc. 

- Exposure to cloud based technologies

- Strong interpersonal skills including team collaboration, leadership, presentation, organizational, verbal and written communication skills

- Broad knowledge of new technology trends and innovative thinking 

- Broad knowledge across other architectural disciplines such as Business, Data, and Platform 

- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, conflicting priorities 

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

- Self-starter ability to drive projects forward with limited oversight 

- Travel required
