Functions objectives 

Our Luxury packaging company needs a full-time Laboratory Specialist to operate under the supervision of our QA Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for testing raw materials and finished products to ensure correct composition and to identify any quality control issues that need to be corrected. 

We’re looking for a professional with experience in perform tests, manage a laboratory, deal with third party laboratories and coordinate their tests, collect and analyze data, storage tests reports.

 

Main tasks and duties

 -      Manage the internal laboratory included all the equipment.

 -     Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.

 -      Enhances laboratory and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. 

-      Perform tests in our internal laboratory as well as on-site at our suppliers’ according to company specs and international standards.

 -     Resolves problems by examining and evaluating data; selecting corrective steps and discuss them with the QA manager.  

-       Apply for tests (including offer specifications of the test methodology) to third party laboratories. 

-       Train internal people and suppliers to meet our testing standards. 

-       File the reports and fill reports on the testing activity. 

-      Completes projects by assisting project team, attending and participating to the project meetings.

 

 Competences required -      

   Associate degree 

-   Familiar with products like paper, metal, plastic (Pu/PVC/PET, Acrylic), leather and fabric items (cotton, polyester, polyamide). 

-    At least 5 years of experience in testing for luxury packaging in any of the following products: paper boxes or bags, pouches, garment bags, optical cases, visual display.   

LANGUAGES: Good knowledge of English is mandatory Good Knowledge of Chinese is mandatory

-         Availability to travel.

-         Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities.

-         Strong written and oral communications skills.

-         Able to work under pressure with respect of stringent time schedule.

-         Ability to work well independently and in team.

-         Able to operate all related computer software applications.

-         Ability to manage time effectively to complete multiple projects.

-         Lab Environment.

-         Equipment Calibration.
