Implement all aspects of the department strategy to deliver all KPIs including shipment and sales participation targets; fully understand sales and margin performance and stock level analysis of the department; guide the team on commercial awareness

Accountable of the Periodic Shipment Report in the management of shipment position of the department for the full year

Deliver a robust supply base that fulfils our Global Sourcing Strategy and meets our Ethical and Technical standards across all sites;  ensuring supplier performance reviews take place regularly

Lead the sourcing process and act as an expert of the department – maintain timely commercial awareness of developments within the supply base, spot commercial opportunities and challenges from market research, proactively present product opportunities and newness to improve product offers and margins

Accountable for the product development process from brief to selection with the supply base; plan, prepare and attend buying trip, with clear follow up actions with all parties; influence selection on products and suppliers

Rationalize quotation records and lead price negotiations or claims with suppliers to ensure margin objectives are met or above; analyse cost savings achievement regularly

Lead the ordering process from purchase order to shipment delivery, ensure excellent availability in store; prompt with other supporting teams to ensure products can be delivered on time with agreed quality standard.   Work with UK and Asia team to manage potential delivery risk

Take initiative to deal with disputes from order delivery and quality concerns

Establish strong communication with UK & Asia colleagues and suppliers via weekly progress meetings, e-mails, SKYPE and trips, etc.

Lead weekly progress management meetings with cross functional colleague in Asia and with UK colleagues providing clear visibility of order status; liaise with different regional offices to work as one team

Requirements:

Excellent written and spoken English

Excellent communication and negotiation skills

University degree and above is preferred

5 years+ working experience in GM industry with strong knowledge of production processes, techniques and product components
