Responsibilities:

1.      Leadership: Lead the Category team in the development & execution of projects, ensuring excellent cross function collaboration. Take ownership of challenges, identify & implement positive solutions.

2.      Category Sourcing Plan: Build the plan based on strong client, market & product insights. Segment to clearly defined projects, with key milestones, owners & value delivery targets.

3.      Strategic Initiatives: Design & implement initiatives to support long-term business growth, ensuring we remain central to our clients’ commercial strategy. (e.g. VMI/SAO/‘Push’ NPD etc.)

4.      Stakeholder relationships: Build & maintain a strong & positive network across our client base. Engage regularly with key stakeholders, ensuring we’re recognized for professionalism & value.

5.      Vendor Strategy: Identify & engage the most appropriate vendors in the market. Build strong vendor alliances that maximize value for our clients. Proactively manage our vendor strategy, implementing improvement programs & steering volumes to our best partners / exiting the worst.

6.      Project Execution: Manage NPD /Range development in-line with company & client criteria. Ensure the team delivers projects to Brief & CPA. Actively source outside the plan (‘Push’).

Commercial Terms: Ensure the team secure the best possible commercial terms from vendors, that deliver cost price advantage, and minimize Working Capital impact.

- 10 years+ commercial experience, with 5 years spent in management roles. Product knowledge in Tools, Electrical, Building Material etc.

- Worked in a multinational environment.

- Excellent leadership skills – ability to engage & motivate the team in delivering shared goals.

- Excellent planning & implementation skills, with strong attention to detail.

- Forward looking; proactive & imaginative. Anticipates.

- Commercial drive & passion for product.

- Excellent negotiation skills, with strong understanding of cost structures.

- Bachelor degree or above, good command of both oral and written English.

Surity was originally established in 2007 as Maxeda Sourcing Asia (MSA), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Maxeda DIY Group, a leading DIY retailer in Benelux.
