Responsibilities: developing and delivering original, accurate, high-quality scientific content within the project specifications and timeline.

? Translate latest English research discoveries to concise, engaging, and scientifically well-informed short- or long-form content to Chinese

? Research and write high-quality original scientific content in Chinese.

? Assist in the preparation and/or editing of primary research report derived from studies conducted by TCCI scientists.

? Serve as the principal point of contact for drafting joint press releases or work in collaboration with our outside media relations firm.

? Pursue and experiment with your best ideas for how to reach our target audiences and meet our goals, utilizing diverse outlets and media, including publications, blog posts, social media.

Requirements

? Master’s, or PhD in cognitive science, neuroscience, computational biology, biophysics, bioengineering or a related field.

? Demonstrated understanding of the underlying concepts, questions, and technology in the related field, including publishing research paper and abstract in science Journals and conferences.

? Demonstrated experience in science communication, including writing about science for the general public and a broad scientific audience.

? Perfect grammar, absolute attention to detail and fact-checking, and the ability to meet editorial deadlines are essential skills for this position.

? Develop a rich understanding of the science by following the preprints and publications, attending seminars, conferences and workshops.

? Work closely with Scientific Program Manager to identify, prioritize, and develop stories of interest.

? Independent and self-directed with strong time management skills

? Highly collaborative and team-oriented.

We are seeking to hire an experienced Science Writer/ Editor to help write and translate the latest research in Chinese. Your primary role will be to daily communicate latest discoveries as well as TCCI scientists’ research accomplishments to a wider scientific audience and the general public. In this regard, our two key goals are to promote awareness and interest in the work TCCI is doing nationally and worldwide, and to build interest and support for scientific research among the general public.
