ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

The primary role of the Sales Engineer will be to work closely with, and provide support to, the China territory customers and Account Manager in the sale of Sensitech products and services to the Life Science and Food vertical.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Primary responsibility for driving and supporting technical Sensitech sales.
  • Be the first level technical resource for the field sales force in relation to Sensitech products or services
  • Act as the interface between identified customers and the Professional Services (PS) department’s – which designs all the value-added services to customers.
  • Holds primary responsibility to own & drive program/technical sales for Sensitech; maintains direct contact and relationships with key customers and internal teams in that regard.
  • Responsible for accurately identifying and scoping the appropriate solution (hardware, software, services combination) to meet stated customer goals. Additionally, the Sales Engineer is responsible for appropriately positioning the proposed solution in support of the sales process to both business and technical users. More broadly, the goal of the Sales Engineer is to support the wider sales activity from a technical perspective.
  • The Sales Engineer must articulate services positioning and technology to both business and technical users – driving assigned sales revenues.
  • Is responsible for identifying all technical and regulatory issues of assigned accounts to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Leverage technical, operational and sales expertise to lead, from a sales perspective, the Sensitech expansion into broader, larger, more sophisticated projects and programs
  • Identify new clients who could benefit from Sensitech products and services and maximize potential in existing customers
  • Support to meet defined sales targets
  • Manage and interpret customer requirements - listen to clients and using astute questioning to understand, anticipate and exceed their needs
  • Persuade clients that Sensitech services will best satisfy their needs in terms of quality, price, and delivery
  • Scope projects and programs working together with the Professional Services team.
  • Responsible for providing proposals and responses to RFIs/RFPs.
  • Develop pricing strategy together with Sales & Professional Services teams.
  • Support strategic marketing activities by attending and/or presenting at trade shows, conferences, and other marketing events
  • Help in the design of custom-made or new services

· Collaborate with Product Marketing Management (PMM) to document specific use-cases and the broader Voice of the Customer (VOC) to help in the definition of market needs that support the development of new products and services.

  • Provide up-to-date detailed knowledge of the China cold chain market which may entail conducting regular briefings/training and produce materials for solutions to other members of the sales & Professional Services teams.
  • Provide product, services, and general industry expertise to the sales process
  • Development and delivery of product & solution demonstrations
  • Able to clearly convey customer requirements to Product Management teams in HQ
  • To fully understand and conversant with China’s laws & regulations relating to pharmaceuticals storage, distribution & logistics, and to ensure Sensitech’s products & services meet and/or exceed the compliance requirements.
  • Represent Sensitech in industry events & meetings as appropriate in the Life Science vertical.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum Bachelors or Master’s Degree (preferred) in Electronic Engineering or related field.
  • Fluent & good command of English is a must.
  • Sound knowledge in real time technology.
  • 10 years of technical experience in driving or supporting solution sales
  • Understanding of cold chain operations knowledge and issues is preferred
  • Prefer with knowledge of local regulations/laws for China (national & provincials) – NMPA’s GSP & GMP, NPMA’s Drug Traceability, etc. and also international regulations related to temperature-sensitive products, such as PDA, EU GDP, etc.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional team including engineers and salespeople
  • Ability to create effective presentations in a time-constrained environment.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work in a multi-tasking environment.
  • Effective written, oral and presentation skills
  • Travel, primarily in the China region (expected >60% of the time) and occasional travel to other territories in Asia-Pacific.
