Responsibilities:

MAIN PURPOSES
? Ensure products sourced are fit for purpose, legal and safe
? Provide technical expertise on products and supplies
? Ensuring that corporate policies and operational procedures are upheld.
? Be responsible for the technical operations in the responsible categories or scopes assigned.
? To oversee the progress of the bespoke QA checks in the supply chain that all measures are implemented due diligently.
? To work in tandem with the stakeholders e.g. UK counterpart & third party local QA service provider to keep abreast of the latest development of product safety standards / UK Directives and to update relevant teams in the business if necessary.

KEY TASKS
? Oversee the product appraisal process and assure mandatory product QA processes are executed by the team.
? Lead a local team to accomplish all factory audit and product quality activities.
? Actively participate in QA strategic planning from regional QA operations’ perspective.
? Execute department objectives and ensure they are delivered as planned.
? Ensure regular performance review on suppliers for continuous improvement.
? Provide technical consultancy to the merchandising team to aid the buying decision.
? Provide effective and sensible QA solution to the business and to the team members.
? Liaise with 3rd party service provider to ensure all relevant products are tested for compliance.
? Handle within the local technical team on product concerns in the market.
? Communicate with all level of local stakeholders and UK counterparts within the business of QA agenda.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
? Educated and qualified to degree level or above in Quality Assurance, Engineering or Science field.
? At least 3 years of working experience as QA in foreign buying office.
? In depth technical knowledge in electrical areas and especially in lighting industry is essential and it will be definely benefit to have the exposure on others e.g. Candle, Cookware, Bakeware, Tabletop, Utility, Cushions etc.
? Understand business process well.
? Possess strong character and influential skills.
? Sound knowledge in ISO 9000 and relevant ethical compliance code such as SMETA/ETI/ SA8000.
? Good analytical skills and must be PC literate, must be able to carry out statistical analysis to formulate actionable directions.
? Good written and oral communication skills in English and Mandarin.
? Excellent interpersonal skill and can communicate with all levels of people within the business effectively.
? Able to work under stress and meet deadlines.
? Strong communication skill, self-motivated, independent, detailed-mind & responsible.
? Frequent travel in China and occasonally oversea is required.
