Job Title: Manager, Safety & Security Operations -APAC

Location: Shanghai

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Join the Synopsys Safety & Security team as the Manager, Safety & Security Operations for Asia-Pacific (APAC) region to develop, implement, refine and manage quality safety and physical security programs to ensure Synopsys, it’s people, and operations are safe, secure, compliant, and resilient. The position reports to Director, Asiapac Real Estate and Facilities, and liaises closely with the Director, Global Safety & Security in Synopsys Headquarters. 

FUNCTIONS:

• Serve as Synopsys APAC leader and point of contact for all safety and security matters. Drive safety and security service, communications and awareness. Provide leadership, guidance, and support to our regional staff, assuring quality regional performance and management of programs, and consistent global implementation.

• Collaborate closely with Global Safety & Security (EH&S/Business Continuity, Physical Security Systems, Global Security Operations Center) to assure tight alignment for the development of physical specifications of new locations and renovated spaces.  Provide local project management for site security implementation, partnering with IT and Facilities, leveraging regional and corporate resources.

• Develop business and industry relationships, including outside counsel, law enforcement agencies, and private consultants to provide consultation and guidance consistent with Global Safety & Security processes. Leverage your network of industry partners to benchmark best practices and adopt new and innovative ideas.

• Build productive internal working relationships with Synopsys regional leaders to understand and support their business and site needs. Collaborate with other infrastructure partners such as Human Resources, Facilities, IT, Legal. Support Synopsys’ hardware business through asset and supply chain management security consultation and guidance based on best practices.

• Mange the Safety and Security APAC resources and budget to assure effective, efficient delivery and management.  Identify opportunities to improve services and management while avoiding new risks and costs.  Develop a network of best-in-class APAC safety and security partners and providers.  Set and collaborate with the Procurement Team to obtain best contract standards.

• Ensure emergency response plans are in place and regularly tested. Provide an initial incident and crisis response support for Synopsys APAC leveraging regional, corporate resources and external security / guarding services providers to safeguard our people, operations, assets, and brand.  Investigate safety and physical security matters with regional resources in alignment with corporate standards.

• Provide a dashboard of risks, and safety and security activities, including physical site, workforce safety, access control systems, and incident and crisis management. Develop and maintain reports to include statistical and written analysis of threats and incidents. Provide management with actionable recommendations and solutions to mitigate risk.  Maintain current risk and vulnerability reports for the region and sites.

• Provide Compliance for Synopsys APAC to meet for local and national regulations and internal policies and procedures.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree (Criminal Justice, Business, Management or related field).
• 8-10 years’ experience in security or related field.
• Professional certifications preferred (CPP, PSPS, etc.).
• Experience in managing outsourced Security SME / service providers’ SLAs and KPIs in a matrixed organization.
• Experience of working in a Global environment with regional leadership responsibilities.
• Proficient in English and Mandarin, both written and verbal
