Job Overview:

The HW System Engineer will be called upon to help solve any number of block level and system level issues for WLAN or WLAN/BT combo SoC, this includes the WLAN subsystem, host interfaces, various peripherals, and the co-existence to BT/FM or other technologies. Will be focus on optimizing RF performance for both TX (EVM, TPC DPD, spectrum mask, regulatory) and RX (Sensitivity, RvR/OTA, blocker) and debug any system issue related to the RF performance.

 

An ideal candidate for this position is someone who enjoys the challenge of solving difficult systems issues and is a fast learner with strong commitment to results.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Design and set up hardware platform for validating chips and system solutions
• Debug functional and performance issues for both board level and chip level, on both pre-silicon emulation platform and post-silicon test board or reference design.
• Support global application engineer and key customers on various HW issues or complicated system issue at the boundary of HW and SW.

 

Qualifications:

• BS Electronic or Communication, Computer Engineering, MS preferred
• 1~5 years of related industrial experience desired

 

Skills/Experience:

• Good computer HW/SW knowledge, knowledge/experience on communication theory
• Chip or board level RF performance tuning experience a great plus
• Knowledge of Wireless LAN protocols, Bluetooth spec or cellular wireless communication protocols a plus
• Programming skills in MATLAB, C/C++, Perl, Python or assemble languages a great plus
• Knowledge of Verilog/VHDL RTL and FPGA skills is a plus
• Highly motivated, fast learner, team player with good communication skills
• Strong trouble shooting and analytical skills
• Enjoys hands on lab work using test/measurement equipment (logic analyzer, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, in-circuit emulator)
