Core Component Senior Engineer will be the Design Responsible Engineer (DRE) responsible for core modules and components, which will include release activities up to launch and supplier management. To take part in new vehicle programme developments and support localisation programmes delivering "make to print" components.
This will include such components as Vehicle Battery, Power systems (Alternator, Starter, Battery Monitor), Body Electronics & Switchgear.
The role will also include support for Pre-PS Programmes (APC – Advanced Product Creation) in agreeing content, feasibility & timing across all Electrical Engineering systems.
The successful candidate will:
Be Responsible for the application delivery of the Core Components from programme start to launch
Be Responsible for component specification & development, supplier engagement, component release, relevant build support activities, component and vehicle sign-off testing including production validation
Ensure suppliers understand product requirements, engineering specifications, and quality, timing and submission requirements
Be Responsible for the function and the interface definition for the systems.
Support the Senior Manager in managing programmes prior to Programme Start (Pre-PS) in there advanced definition & feasibility stage, for all EE systems, ensuring feasibility of programme content & overall programme timing.
Be based in Shanghai and support activities at Changshu. Possible travel to UK.
Candidates should be educated to degree level in an appropriate discipline and be able to demonstrate an in depth understanding of automotive component design & test. They shall have a basic understanding of hardware / software design & CAN/LIN network development tools. They shall have excellent negotiation and communications skills, have an ability to build relationships with suppliers, project management and liaise with employees at all levels, be self motivated and able to work to a high standard with minimal supervision.
Essential experience includes requirements documentation, supplier management, test specification & execution on bench & in-vehicle, the analysis and debugging of system related faults.
The role will have no direct reports. Successful candidate will however be required to manage the supplier and lead the internal cross functional activities required to deliver the component.
1.Degree in communication engineering / electronic/ electron related field
2.5-year plus Body Electronics & Networks development background in OEM &Supplier
3.Have good technical system &component knowledge, Fluency in English and Mandarin
4.Good general computer skills inc. MS office suite, CAN & LIN development tools.
5.The ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision when necessary to deliver key objectives
6. Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks
7. Willing to take the lead and challenge others to deliver
8. Able to be flexible with working arrangements including shifts & overtime where required
