Responsibilities

 

·         Manage core-infrastructure and systems in a racked Linux and Windows environment, including the following: CentOS, RHEL, Windows Server, Active Directory, Virtualized Infrastructure (VMware), F5 Load Balancers etc.

·         Provide the required daily support, maintenance and management of the environment.

·         Maintain the uptime and availability of Green Dot Infrastructure and its affiliates.

·         Work to constantly improve system resiliency by developing self-healing, self-assembling infrastructure.

·         Manage enterprise applications responsible for server builds, patching and vulnerability management, virtual machine management.

·         Perform system performance tuning and administration.

·         Participate in the on-call rotation that supports our production infrastructure.

·         Author internal documentation, such as environment diagrams, installation/configuration documents, DR documents

·         Mentor system administrators and technicians on open source Linux experience.

·         Perform other duties as needed.

 

Requirements

 

·         Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience.

·         A minimum of 5 years’ hands-on experience in Linux system administration.

·         Firm grasp of core operating system concepts (processes, threading, memory management, file system types, ACLs).

·         In-depth practical knowledge of open source system technologies, operation, and maintenance.

·         Familiarity with common system services, e.g. DNS, DHCP, NFS, SNMP, RAID.

·         Experience with scripting and automation of tasks, such as either Bash, Python, or Ansible.

·         Experience with Cloud Native Services such as Kubernetes.

·         Experience with cloud computing IaaS / PaaS technologies on either AWS, Google Cloud or Azure.

·         Working knowledge of F5 load balancers or equivalent technology.

·         Extensive experience with virtualization technologies.

·         Solid understanding of operation and maintenance procedure in running production environment.

·         A team player with great communication skill between multiple teams like Dev, QA, DevOps, DBAs, and other teams as required.

·         Ability to work and deliver service consistently under pressure.

·         Good Chinese and verbal English communications capability.
