POSITION:                             Design Manager

REPORTING TO:                  General Manager

RESPONSIBILITY:                 Manage the Design Phase for EPCM projects.

AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

1.       Manages different groups of engineers either in house or departments in a Design Institute to ensure coordination and smooth operation to deliver timely design services for our projects.

2.       Provides design support to Business Development Function when required.

3.       Establishing internal in-house design management procedures

4.       Managing design schedule, quality and cost to meet company requirements.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor Degree in either architecture or engineering discipline is required.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 8 years experience in managing all technical disciplines for full EPCM projects

Previous experience with LDI will be considered favourably.

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:

1.       Knowledge of international & local standards and design codes

2.       Good personal nature, believe in honest & trust.

3.       Experience working on large project as key design engineer.

4.       Familiar with all design disciplines and strong leadership skills on design management

5.       Ability to work in English and posses excellent written and oral English.

6.       Computer literate with a sound working knowledge of design software (CAD, etc.), word processing, spread sheet, project programming, database or project management packages and e-mail.

7.       Ability to work autonomously and under pressure, with a sense of urgency, to meet constant deadlines.

8.       Well organised, an ability to prioritise, with good time management skills.

9.       Have the presence, confidence and knowledge to quickly instil confidence in clients that  Cockram can meet their expectations.

10.    Capability of gathering information to make informed, timely and smart decisions to the best benefit of the company.

11.    Possess good people management skills including:
