Lead Engineer E & I

A General

? The primary task of the E&I Lead engineer is to support CONTRACTOR with technical information (technology transfer)
? The E&I Lead engineer is a caretaker to assure that CONTRACTORs detail engineering will finally meet the needs of the process.
? Lead engineer prepares information for project control and reporting
- Progress on key documents
- Adjustment/update of key quantities
- Schedule
? Reviews and comments on Change Orders and change order requests; submit comments to Engineering Manager / E&I Coordinator
? Monitors CONTRACTOR with regard to compliance with applicable standards


B Detail Engineering

Basis work in the start-up phase
? Supervision and check the creation of the detailed engineering standards such as
- Hook up's
- Instrument Installation Details
- Etc.
? Interpret and explain the basic engineering package
? Monitor and check the creation of documents for Detail Engineering+

Lead, control and check of the EPC Contractor
? Supervision of the Basic Engineering transfer to the Detail Engineering
? Control of the correct use of the general requirement
? Control the use of the Chinese requirements by CONTRACTOR
? Control of the Detail Engineering Documents
? Control and check the flow of information inside CONTRACTORs organization
? Quality management according RisQ
? Assistance and control in case of winding-up of the Main Vendor concept
? Assistance in case of problems with our standard vendors
? Assistance and control in case of winding-up of Package Units
? Participate in shop inspections and FAT for E & I equipment

Support OWNERs Team Colleagues (Production, Process etc.)
? Support E&I Coordinator and Engineering Manager
? Consult in case of design changes
? Detail check of all engineering documents according to DoW and RisQ
? Detail check of the procurement documents like invitation to bit, order, order confirmation, change order, invoice etc.
? Participate in HAZOP studies
? Monitor compliance with BASF Group minimum requirements (mandatory standards)
? Plausibility check of the project progress report
? Plausibility check of the CONTRACTOR invoice
? Education of the Chinese Maintenance staff

Main E&I Vendor winding-up
? Participate in kick of meeting
? Control of the correct use of project standards
? Participate in the check of the standard solution before start of mass production
? Check of the invoice
? Time and cost control of CONTRACTOR
? Participate in Shop inspections
? Participate in FAT
? Participate in checks for Interfaces to Packaged Units and field equipment

C Construction

? Preparation of information for project controls and forward to Lead Engineer
- Progress on key documents
- Adjustment/update of key quantities
- Schedule
? Review and Comment on Change Orders and change order requests; submit comments to E&I coordinator (Construction)

Lead, control and check of the CONTRACTOR

? Control of the quality management in case of delivery, site entrance quality check and storage of equipment
? Supervision and check of the construction safety concept at site
? Check of good construction practice
? Control of the correct transfer of the Basic and Detail Engineering into the construction
? Control of the correct work in case of construction checks
? Control of the Loop Checks
? Participate in Class A loop checks and check of the documentation
? Plausibility check of the construction progress report
? Plausibility check of the invoices
? Support the E&I Construction supervisior
