About the role

What you need to know:

Works under the general direction of China Compliance Officer and assist China Compliance Officer to work on country-wide projects and compliance matters in AIG China Shanghai Branch.

This position reports directly to China Compliance Officer, while managing a subordinate who is responsible for compliance in AIG China Marine Center. At the same time, this position also needs to fully communicate with other compliance team members (including other branches and AML staff), and conduct management, supervision and coordination in daily work and project management.

· Establish and update China compliance management framework and mechanism, from external regulatory requirements and internal corporate compliance policies;

· Develop, review, release and implement series of compliance management policies pertaining to external regulatory and internal corporate requirements;

· Report any identified regulatory reportable compliance issues to external regulators, AIG China local management, and escalate it to AIG Global/Regional Compliance Officer;

· Timely deliver compliance related reports pertaining to external regulatory requirements and internal corporate compliance policies;

· Monitor and assess the adequacy and effectiveness of the systems and controls as required by regulatory and corporate compliance requirements,

· Prepare and deliver qualified testing & monitoring review report, discuss with issue owners and propose countermeasures and solutions, and timely follow up with mitigation and control solutions;

· Carry out specific responsibilities and projects assigned to the compliance, including but not limited to Anti-money laundering, Anti-corruption, Anti-fraud, Economics Sanctions; etc.;

· Provide compliance trainings in coaching management and employees about compliance policies and requirements;

· Provide support and assistance to other local branches’ compliance matters where needed;

· Promote general risk management culture through daily risk management work and ad-hoc projects, e.g. SARMRA, risk events reporting, and timely follow up for risk mitigation and control solutions; and

· Serves as “point of contact” in liaison with local regulators, including but are not limited to CBIRC, PBOC, etc.

At branch level, the position oversees compliance and compliance risk management to ensure that local management and employees are in compliance with regulatory obligations and AIG corporate policy requirements.

What we’re looking for:

· Proficient in insurance industry, better understanding of P&C and A&H insurance;

· Demonstrated experience in compliance related work;

· Proven certain risk management work experience;

· Understand new sales channels, such as internet, online business;

· Proven management and organizational abilities;

· Strong communication and influencing skills;

· Fluent languages both English and Chinese, especially in written;

· Ability to analyze complex situations / prioritize actions;

· Strong knowledge and understanding of local regulatory requirements;

· Professional training skill.
