We are currently looking for a tax manager for a global top manufacturing group at Suzhou
This individual will be the tax leader related to PRC taxation matters including but not limited to providing quality review of tax filings, providing tax technical expertise, and planning and implementing tax projects (i.e. share transfers, legal entity formation and liquidation, high technology applications, and obtaining tax incentives). This individual will work closely with PRC Shared Service and business units to ensure up-to-date compliance with PRC tax legislation and to provide support on tax aspects of all business development activity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities - all in PRC:
? Take lead role on identifying and implementing tax planning strategies; in particular in the area of managing corporate structure and financing arrangements. (25%)
? Implement "best practices" by establishing controls and processes for tax compliance and tax reporting functions. (10%).
? Mentoring existing tax expertise in local finance teams (10%)
? Provide quality control over Group reporting (i.e. budget and forecast tax calculations, income tax provisions, cash tax monitors, and effective tax rate management). (15%)
? Manage the preparation of PRC transfer pricing studies. (10%)
? Liaise with China government agencies on all tax related issues; including audits, negotiating tax incentives, planning future investments, and in general maintaining a good working relationship with local tax bureau. (10%)
? Provide regular updates to local finance and to Finance and Tax teams. Become the primary China tax expert and contact within the group. (10%)
? Identify and manage tax risk areas both on a pre and post audit basis. (10%)
The Successful Applicant - will show or have the potential to show the following key characteristics:
? Recognized university degree in finance, accounting or taxation.
? At least 6 to 8 years of good achievement in tax compliance, planning and reporting experience in "Big 4" public accounting and multinational company covering all PRC taxes, both direct (corporate income tax) and indirect (VAT, customs duty, business tax).
? Sound knowledge and practical experience working with PRC tax policies, rules and regulations at national and local levels.
? Fluency in both spoken and written English and Chinese (Putonghua).
? Successful track record of dealing with relevant bureau especially tax bureau.
? Ability to influence and manage the activities of a team of finance personnel delegated with tax compliance responsibilities.
? Clear communication skills with colleagues (peer, junior and senior) with and without tax backgrounds.
? Practical understanding of key business concepts as related to tax - transfer pricing tax planning, cash management, foreign exchange, Customs and Duties compliance is an advantage.
? Ability to mentor tax expertise existing within the local tax teams.
? Excellent interpersonal skills, energy and enthusiasm, demonstrable ability to be influential with and adapt to different styles of financial management, clear ability to draw respect in all working relationships
