Job Description:

• Report Line: China Senior IE manager

•   Responsibilities:

• Senior Industrial Engineering Engineer oversees and takes responsibilities for the development and implementation of manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling to maintain proper product functionality as well as cost efficiency;

• Be familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, procedures and standards;

• Relies on extensive experience and knowledge to plan and accomplish goals;

• Perform a variety of complex tasks. Leads and directs the work of others;

• Interface with the product engineer (R&D) regarding follow-up of the product conception: from the acquisition phase till SOP (+ 6 month) whenever necessary and ensure product manufacturing feasibility;

• Participate new project RFQ, provide manufacturing plan including investment, space and headcount;

• Work with facility engineer to lead new green field project implementation and expansion projects with site search, selection, process & equipment design, layout design, utilities planning, manpower planning, method training for workforce, establishment of infrastructure etc.;

• Design manufacturing process and prepare all the documentations such as process flow chart, layout, PFMEA, standard work instruction, etc.;

• Write production equipment and tooling specifications, select the cost effective supplier, follow-up equipment build process, install and accept the equipment;

• Take responsibility for efficiency & productivity improvement in plants thru continuous improvement;

• Other tasks assigned by manager

• Job Specification / required skills:              

• Bachelor degree or above in Industrial engineering, electrical engineering, automation or mechanical engineering;

• At least 8 years related working experience in a manufacturing environment out of which at least 5 years in automotive industry;

• Working experience of interior system or seating preferred;

• Standard time analysis skill is required, MOST, MTM or equivalent certification preferred;

• Systematic Layout Design experience;

• Solid project management skills along with great communication skills in cross-functional organization, budgeting, time management and problem-solving abilities; 

• Familiar with Automotive requirements and standards – APQP tools & TS16949 etc.;

• Good command of English, both oral and written.

• Proficiency with MS Office, and other industrial project management software, such as MS Project, AUTOCAD etc.;

• Strong understanding of Lean principles, Six Sigma;

• Cross cultural and international experience preferred.
