The Blue Nile Diamond and Jewelry Consultant (DJC) is an individual who embraces knowledge and education as their core. A Diamond and Jewelry Consultant at Blue Nile is a person who is outgoing, passionate and thrives on helping others. Our goal in Customer Service is to enhance and grow the brand connection experience for our Blue Nile customers. Our Diamond and Jewelry Consultants do this through being professional, accessible, enthusiastic, and interested in a career that creates a Jeweler for Life relationship with Blue Nile Customers.


Responsibility:






  • Demonstrate exceptional Customer Service in Japanese and English/Chinese
    • Educate customer on diamond and jewelry products
    • Communicate the Blue Nile Difference, instilling trust and confidence in our brand
    • Offer no-pressure advice and guidance to help customers make decisions with confidence
    • Build lasting customer relationships through care and responsiveness
    • Effectively resolve complex customer service challenges, finding solutions which exceed customer expectations






  • Continuously maintain excellent attendance and punctuality
  • Proactively follow up on all work requests within Blue Nile’s service level standards
  • Understand department goals and meet defined metrics
  • Maneuver effectively and efficiently through computer systems
  • Provide assistance and troubleshooting for payment processing
  • Translate and review documents and website content in Japanese and English
  • Occasional market, customer, and competitive research in Japanese and English
  • Work cross-functionally with technology teams and translation vendors











  • Assist in additional projects as assigned by  the International team






  • Qualifications:


    • Native Japanese ability and fluency in Chinese and/or English, with the ability to compose professional written correspondence
    • Bachelor’s degree (Business, Sales, Communications or Marketing major preferred)
    • Previous customer service, sales and/or call center experience preferred
    • Available to work flexible hours
    • Ability to establish instant rapport and instill trust and credibility
    • Strong computer and typing skills
    • Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills; ability to multi-task and prioritize daily responsibilities
    • Excellent listening, written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to work within deadlines in a fast paced environment
    • Previous experience in accounting or working with payment processing is preferred
