Purpose  

This position is to provide process design and process technical service to all plants in Asia wholly owned, JV and subsidiary companies as part of on-going productivity, new plant start up and commissioning and technical troubleshooting initiatives.

 

Nature and Scope

 

This position is responsible for providing senior level process and plant engineering support of production facilities and associated businesses in the Asia Region.  The incumbent provides engineering leadership to drive asset performance which includes process engineering, troubleshooting, plant efficiency, process safety, equipment reliability, advanced controls, asset management and productivity project support for over 100 production sites across nine countries, including Japan, Korea, Taiwan, China, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and India.

 

This position reports to the Plant Process Engineering Manager – Asia and is directly aligned to the Global Leads in GO Asset Management Engineering. As part of GO, this position is expected to interface with the other regional process support teams for global sharing of best practices and consistent work processes

 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

1.       Provide senior level process and plant engineering technical support to maintain efficient and reliable product supplies across all countries in Asia.

2.       Identifying, leading, and completing Asset Management productivity projects aimed at improving efficiency, cost position, plant capacity and/or reliability.

3.       Providing plant/process technical support including troubleshooting and resolution of operating problems, plant optimization controls and strategies, plant reliability and product supply issues. 

4.       Provide support for capital projects (capacity, efficiency upgrades, training, start up & commissioning) as requested by GEO, Plant Project and Plant Maintenance organizations.

5.       Assist sites teams in monitoring energy efficiency relative to budget and drive year-to-year improvements.

6.       Strong engagement with GO Line and Plant Mgrs, GSS Mgrs and Business Leads to align with asset management opportunities and commercial priorities. 

7.       Provide technical and safety reviews for MOC’s and drive process safety compliance as part of engineering reviews. 

8.       Provide process safety leadership for supported facilities, including OPHR reviews and corrective actions, supporting RCA investigations, and BSP leadership.

9.       Provide turnaround support 

 

 

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

 

The position requires an individual with:

 

1.       Demonstrated engineering and technical skills.

2.       Solid leadership capabilities including interpersonal, and communication skills (written and verbal) in English are essential to the position.  

3.       A minimum of a BS engineering degree (ChE preferred) and 10+ years experiences in Engineering and/or Operations is required.

4.       Travel 30-50% of the time on an annualized basis

5.       Previous experience in plant operations and design preferred.

6.       Previous experience in Large SMR operations a plus.

7.       Previous experience in Coal gasification/purification operations a plus

8.       Previous experience in HyCO or Ethylene Cold Box is a plu

9.       Fluency in verbal Mandarin skills a plus.
