What I need to do

• Deliver safe, legal and ethically sourced products.
• Manage supplier compliance at site level, against technical and ethical KPIs and targets, through effective site contacts.
• Deliver brilliant basics, maintain accurate product information for all Sainsbury’s brand products ensuring quality and safety standards are adhered to.
• Identify & implement technical action plan with suppliers that drives continuous improvement. Where appropriate, complete detailed investigations on issues, identify root cause of the issue and implement clear action plans with suppliers.

• Deliver technical aspects of sustainability plan. Set and communicate clear targets to the relevant suppliers.
• Manage category projects to improve product quality, deliver technical aspects of category projects, on time to a high standard through delivering a gated development process.

 

What I need to know

• Bachelor degree or above in Food science or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years’ work experience in food quality assurance.
• Experience in retailer own brand management and product development process is an advantage.
• Good working knowledge of HACCP, BRC standard, quality management systems and internal audits.
• Familiar with UK legislation and requirements; and manufacturing operations in Asia.
• Good proficiency in spoken and written English and Chinese (Putonghua)
• Good interpersonal, communication and analytical skills
• Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy in work.
• Computer literate.
• The role will require travel across the Asia region.
