This role will partner with Business Leadership, Legal, Product Stewardship and external advisors to address brand misuse, trademark infringement, counterfeit products as well as participate in risk management for DuPont’s trademark/brand portfolio.  The Brand Protection program has senior leadership support as its’ purpose is to proactively combat global issues which are causing reputational harm to our brands/products and impacting business success by compromising growth opportunities & revenue.  The successful candidate will ideally have brand protection, regulatory, legal (Intellectual Property), and/or process leadership background and be a point of contact in the Company for implementation of fair use of our trademarks.

Specific Responsibilities

• Maintain advanced knowledge of leading brand protection approaches including prevention (e.g. anti-counterfeiting), detection, investigation and prosecution
• Collaborate with regional and global business units & the Legal team to proactively assess on-line & off-line brand protection issues and create & execute enforcement strategy
• Work directly with brand protection vendors to baseline and execute e-marketplace take-downs
• Develop relationships with regional e-commerce marketplaces to achieve higher rate of enforcements
• Provide support to Product Stewardship processes and help integrate with brand protection so that a holistic risk management process is established
• Fully understand and uniformly apply the Company’s brand protection standards & practices
• Participate in DuPont and/or industry groups involved in brand protection
• Work with cross-functional DuPont stakeholders to educate and enable compliance of fair use of our brands with customers in their respective channels
• Create and deliver customized education materials for regional Customs agencies to facilitate their cooperation in the identification & seizure of suspected counterfeit product
• Lead special projects, initiatives and teams to expand the brand protection program/efforts across DuPont’s lines of businesses & corporate functions
• Assist with strategic program analysis as the program grows and evolves to meet changing business and Company needs
• Report all results and intelligence on a regular basis with defined reporting tools

• Qualifications & Experience
• essful candidate will possess and demonstrate the following competencies:
• Fluency in Mandarin and excellent English written and oral communication skills with the ability to adapt messages to a broad range of audiences, internal and external
• Four-year degree in marketing, paralegal, economics, international business or other relevant disciplines
• 3+ years of experience ideally in the area of intellectual property and trademark protection but also across market research, branding, marketing or other relevant areas
• Demonstrated experience in establishing new processes and controls
• Ability to work independently but also build partnerships effectively with internal and external stakeholders to create alignment of business and brand protection objectives
• Exceptional organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and strong attention to detail
