Brief Description

This is a member of technical staff position in engineering software driver team for optical access and digital home product lines at Cortina. A successful candidate is required to design and implement function modules in the areas of packet switching and processing, QoS, hardware acceleration, network processors, PON and device drive development but not limited to. An open minded learning attitude and willing to try is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work at software team to develop driver function modules based on different PON/digital home chips and multi-service/multi-processor SoC platforms, including Ethernet PHY, MAC, switching/routing functions, hardware acceleration, QoS, EPON/GPON technologies.
• Participating software architecture design review, driver module design/review, coding/review/unit test and maintenance according to system requirements and conventions.
• Estimate feature development effort and schedules.
• Promote knowledge sharing with local and remote teams.
• Be a self-motivated, innovative, hands-on, and getting-things-done team player.  Be able to work under pressure, always aware of project progression and target and willing to adjust working pace under such demand.

Domain Knowledge and Experience Requirements

• Hands-on networking experience, particularly in Ethernet switching and processing, TCP/IP stack, home gateway routers, network-attached storage, and device drive experience.
• working experience in networking industry, preferably in the embedded system design would be a plus.
• Working experience with ARM/MIPS architectures and network processors would be a plus.
• Implementation experience with Linux kernel and TCP/IP stack, and system performance profiling tools.
• Fluent verbal and written English
• BS or MS in electrical engineering or computer science is required.
• Experience with EPON/GPON development will be a plus
