Essential Functions:

Technical Support:

• Partner with account managers to provide technical supports to customers on our products.
• Visit customers regularly to build good customer intimacy.
• Assist customers to use our products in their applications where the value proposition of our products can be reflected.
• Handle product quality complaints from the customers. Ensure good customer satisfaction on using our solutions.
• Understand the fundamentals of not only the technology of our products but also the application technology of our customers. Be able to tell how our products are applied at the customers and why.
• Have the knowledge of competitive products and be able to illustrate the differentiation between our products and the competitors’ in front of customers.
• Lead the application tests in our lab to generate valuable data for both customer use and our internal understanding. Be able to design the experiments and guide the lab technicians to complete the application tests with good quality.
• Develop sales toolkits and provide training to customers if necessary.

Technical Development:

• Application development:

1. Identify new applications where our products can be applied with value propositions.
2. Explore the major customers in the identified new applications to build potential new business opportunities.
3. Learn the application technology and figure out the link between the application performance requirements and our products. Identify the selling points.
4. Develop and modify the products for the new applications if necessary, by collaborating with R&D team.
5. Coordinate both internal lab trial and customer machine trials on our products aiming at revealing the value of our products and driving the spec-in and commercialization.

Product development:

1. Lead new product development projects according to the application needs of the identified opportunities.
2. Interpret the application knowledge into the product development language when collaborating with the product R&D team. Assist the R&D team to develop the products which meet the performance requirement targets (usually refer to certain industry standards).
3. Validate the new product performance in application formulations. Be able to adjust the formulations in order to optimize the use of our products.
4. Work with account managers to drive the commercialization of the new products.

Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree or above, Chemistry or related major is preferred
• 8+ years work experience in technical positions
• Experienced in adhesive and sealant industry
• Experience in emulsion latex is preferred
• Technical background in water based adhesive and sealant markets such as lamination adhesives, wood adhesives, pressure sensitive adhesives, etc. Have basic knowhow of common adhesive formulations.
• Knowledge of chemical industry, particularly emulsion latex including Styrene-Butadiene latex, Styrene-Acrylate latex, etc. Ability to link the adhesive performance requirements to the properties of key components in the formulation e.g. latex.
• Learning skills. Be able to quickly get into unknown new fields by leveraging the experience.
• Innovative. Ability to think out-of-box.
• Good communication skills. Ability to build customer intimacy.
• Oral and written English skills are required.
