Purpose of the role:

Administer the compliance and risk management for BP China's business operations. This will include managing all aspects of compliance in China, and developing, implementing and overseeing compliance with key corporate policies, including but not limited to Code of Conduct and policies relating to ABC, AML, Securities Trading and other compliance activities related to corporate operations of BP China; Assist BP China in aligning the business’ risk appetite to its business strategy/activities by providing frameworks, processes and effectively implemented controls and trainings.

Responsible for:

-Ensure that BP China is aware of local regulations (and forthcoming regulations) as they affect the business operating activities in the country/region;

-Ensure that such local regulations are adhered to either by establishing protocols within the country/region or by incorporating country/regional requirements in existing protocols; 

-Coordinate initiatives with respective compliance group to minimize conflicting regulatory positions between regimes;

-Be a subject matter expert and resource to ensure that the BP China's compliance regime is understood and implemented.

-Working closely with BAM Compliance VP, Brookfield Risk Management Group, Global Safety, Health & Environment team and relevant BP internal teams to implement key corporate policies and plans, including but not limited to:

     -Code of Business Conduct and Ethics

     -Anti-Bribery and Corruption

     -Health & Safety 

     -Business Continuity

     -Anti-Money Laundering

     -Personal Trading Policy

     -Privacy Policy

     -Records Retention Policy

     -Other Compliance and Risk policies

     - Maintaining records and registers with respect to such policies. § 

-Ensure effective identification, measurement, control, management, escalation and reporting of compliance risk;

-Oversee and implement the Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC) program for BP China including:

     - performance of ABC due diligence over key counterparts (vendors, co-owners, tenants)

     -managing training requirements for BP China teams

     -ABC annual risk assessments and controls implementation within BP China

-Design, implement and maintain vendor ABC risk assessment/due diligence processes including third parties’ certifications/re-certifications.

-Oversee and implement appropriate Health & Safety programs into BP China to ensure compliance with China Health & safety regulations, and report on issues to BP China Management.

-Oversea and implement Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery planning policies and procedures for BP China

-Conduct monitoring and surveillance of compliance within BP China;

-Produce informative and timely compliance reporting for business and compliance management;

-Develop, implement, and maintain compliance manuals, policies and procedures to meet regulatory and internal corporate requirements; 

-Engage closely and pro-actively with BP China internal stakeholders to keep up-to-date with new products, initiatives, technologies and applications and their implications;

-Provide sound and practical compliance advice and support to the business, delivered clearly and concisely in a timely fashion;

-Identify and provide compliance & risk trainings to staff whenever necessary;

-Arrange for regulatory filings related to BP China within the scope of the Compliance function to be lodged as required;  

-Assist business with, and coordinate reviews carried out by internal and external auditors and regulators;

-Assist and/or lead compliance projects, and as required, on a regional or global basis; 

-Other BP general compliance and/or risk assessment (including operational, OH&S) coordinating tasks as required.
