The Warehouse is New Zealand’s largest General Merchandise Retailer with an outsourcing office based in Shanghai. Due to our fast expansion, we are now looking for high calibre candidates to join our team in Shanghai.

This role ensures that all products meet The Warehouse’s Quality Standards by executing The Warehouse Quality policy and framework, to enable the growth of Direct Sourcing through the delivery of a high-performance Quality Team.

Duties:

1. Manage workload and workflow for area in line with Company framework and critical path.

2. Measure and report cause of rejection/pass/fail rates and fault types (monthly and quarterly or as required)

3. Sample Evaluation: SRO Quality team evaluations for all designated product samples for their fit for use and compliance characteristics.

4. Product Specifications: ensure that all samples proceeding to production are accompanied by a specification based on, or equivalent to, The Warehouse’s product specification template for General Merchandise products.

5. Ensure team carries out timely and effective PP meetings with factories as required.

6. Compliance documentation: ensure that all required evidence of standards compliance has been reviewed and approved prior to production commencing.

7. Agrees quality control plan with Buyer and Sourcing teams based on risk and complexity of the product, value, the capability of the supplier, and the status of the order – initial order versus repeat order.

8. Shipping Approval: approve the shipment of the product only based on a report derived from any of the above sources (as agreed in the QC Plan) indicating conformance to specification and standard. Shipping approval may be delegated to Sourcing team or competent local suppliers.

9. Support onboarding for new vendors with standard template/score card for initial assessment of Factory Quality Process

10. Coaching and mentoring action plans to support direct reports to enhance their job performance and career development.
