General Mission:
The merchandiser’s mission is to ensure compliance with the supply of goods in accordance with the terms negotiated by the buyer with the supplier, whether it’s collection and production.
Main activities:
. Ensure product delivery dates are met by driving and monitoring suppliers on a daily basis.
. Materials :
o Sourcing of new materials related to the stylists’ brief + price/MOQ negotiation of these.
o Recovering/creation of material technical sheet (Price, MOQ, width, available test result, etc).
o Fabric: Check the lab dip and quality before sending it to France for final approval.
o Trims/Print: Ensure the conformity and quality are compliant with CWF requirements.
. Collection :
o Study & analyze technical file sent. Request clarification to CWF France to ensure complete file is sent to supplier.
o Be a supporting leader during meeting between designer team and suppliers while they are in Shanghai.
o Drive supplier to deliver each samples on time and communicate with them on a daily basis
o C0 (Prototype) & C1 (Confirmed proto): Check the quality and conformity before sending to France.
o Ensure C1 samples delivery for licensor’s validation
o Ensure Sales Men Sample deliveries for salespeople once the OK SMS is given by technicians. Ensure that the supplier took in consideration all comments/modifications asked by the brand.
. Production :
o Follow the progress of Size Set, bulk yardage, Pre Production Sample and test validation. In coordination with buyers, the merchandiser monitors and pushes CWF technicians or the suppliers based on the tracking tables.
o Based on ETD confirmed by supplier, the merchandiser drive the KPI in order to anticipate possible delays and put in place action plan accordingly.
o If delay :
. Re negotiating of incoterms according to customer service needs.
. Delays analysis and enforcement of penalties.
. Analyze supplier’s performance and prepare an action plan with buyers.
. Before ordering, ensure that all products have been affected to the right supplier with the confirmed prices.
. The merchandiser checks and confirms supplier’s packing list during bulk shipping, it also ensures the data are compliant with custom requirements.
Skills and requirements:
. Textile knowledge mandatory (Knit, woven, accessories, shoes, etc)
. Previous experience in collection AND production management.
. English: Perfect mastery (Oral and written).
. Fashion sense and product sensibility are a plus.
. Knowledge of incoterms is a plus
. Management and organization of its supplier pool.
. Negotiation.
. Autonomy
. Requires regular travel.
