POSITION SUMMARY:
The New Product Development Manager will manage the development of equipment and processes
from concept to prototype. This will include product and equipment design, general processes and
procedures, project planning, internal and external qualification and transfer to other production sites.
The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously is a must. Interaction with the sales and
marketing group will be substantial, and direct interaction with target customers will be required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
New Product Development includes :
· Project planning and execution
· Product design for manufacturing
· Prototype product make/buy decision making
· Prototype equipment design and build
· Cost justification and estimation of product and equipment
· Interaction with sales and marketing on new product ideas and needs
· Interaction with suppliers and possible sub-contractors
· Initial production Process development and control
· Documentation of trials and results
· Design and implementation of tooling, fixturing, etc.
· Value Engineering--Cost/Benefit Analysis of Changes
· Production area layout concepts and flow
· Implementation of Lean concepts in the final processes and procedures
· Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
· 5+ years Experience in new product development
· Creative thinking and ability to turn thoughts into ideas
· Machine shop experience a plus
· Engineering Degree--Mechanical, Manufacturing, or similar with some CAD computer skills.
· Familiar with product registration and licensing, project management, cost benefit analysis,
market research and product quality.
