Description
This is an onsite position with PDE-IT domain based in Fort Collins USA. The person to fill this position will work with the domain team very closely in agile mode, responsible for all stages of ASIC CAD tool development for complex products, solutions, and platforms, including design, development. The duties include but not limited to:
Gathering requirements, planning, and implementing ASIC design & verification methodologies around industry standard tools.
Integrating multiple vendors' tools & databases into common design & verification flows.
Unifying HP's ASIC design & verification environment.
Installing software & maintaining design & verification environment. Sharing ideas and best practices with counterparts at other sites.
Participating the review and evaluation of designs and project activities for compliance with IT development guidelines and standards; providing tangible feedback to improve product quality.
Applying developed subject matter knowledge to solve common and complex business issues within established guidelines and recommending appropriate alternatives.
Exercising independent judgment within generally defined policies and practices to identify and select a solution for problems of diverse complexity and scope.
Providing direction to team activities and facilitating information validation and team decision-making process.
Handling unique situations.
Seeking advice in order to make decisions on complex business issues.
Building relationship with business partner on ASIC CAD tool design and development.
Driving innovation and integration of new technologies into projects and activities in the ASIC CAD Tools organization.
Providing guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
Minimum 6-10 years of experience
Knowledge and Skills
Using electrical design tools and software packages.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
Understand all facets of ASIC design from early definition to tape-out.
Understands deep submicron VLSI devices, layout, simulation, verification, and fabrication process.
Experience in ASIC CAD or design role in multiple geographies.
Software engineering, revisioning; C/C++, Perl and shell; Linux system administration
Experience in overall architecture of electronic hardware for products and solutions.
Designing and integrating electronic components, integrated circuitry, and algorithms into overall architecture
Evaluating and proposing forms of empirical analysis, modeling and testing methodologies to validate component, circuit, and hardware designs and thermal/emissions management
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and Mandarin. Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at senior management levels.
