Research Scientist/ Sr. Research Scientist

The research scientist position provides an opportunity to continue honing technical ability while also developing skills in client interaction, project management, and advancing the company's project responsibilities. The qualified candidate would become part of the innovation lab at ESSEX Lake Group. The innovation lab at ESSEX strongly focuses on implementing best-in-class research methodologies by utilizing the combination of advanced machine learning techniques and modeling methods to extract intelligent patterns from large data sets of varied structure. The successful candidates will be responsible for performing variety of professional-level consulting and model development tasks. In particular, lead the effective use of algorithms, models and methods development in at least one of the following areas: data mining, text mining, signal processing, image analysis or similar fields. He would be responsible for leading to setup, test and run data analytics platforms. He would work across multiple global teams to provide advanced analytics support on client projects. There would be constant need to conceptualize and lead the development of new products and solutions using advanced analytical techniques for implementation in profit enhancement projects. The successful candidate will also work closely with industry experts and academic research professors from reputed institute in the world.

Qualifications:
? PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Engineering or other quantitative field involving data mining and text mining are highly preferred
? Strong mathematical background and hands-on experience in conducting statistical analysis, development of predictive models and machine learning algorithms
? Proven ability in applying theoretical knowledge in practical applications, data analysis, algorithmic prototyping, and data visualization methods
? Must be self-starter, possess ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
? Ability to learn new domains and apply advance methodologies to solve real-world problem.
? Strong implementation and programming skills in any of the statistical packages such as SAS, SPSS, R, Matlab is essential, working knowledge of Hadoop, MapReduce technologies is an added advantage
? Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are required
