Roles & Responsibilities

1) Develop and Implement sourcing strategies in coordination with global category leaders and Avon business partners to meet business objectives this includes but not limited to identification & qualification of low cost supply base and identification of items that are good candidates for LCC sourcing

2) Understand market factors that effect these decisions .

3) Be innovative with cost reduction opportunities . Understand raw material cost drivers and use creatively in cost negotiation / discussions. Lead global pricing negotiation and manage all commercial activities with the LCC suppliers with the support from Global Sourcing . Support Global Sourcing in total cost analysis to justify cost advantage of the identified LCC suppliers

4) Drives, leads and executes global low cost country sourcing initiatives across categories and regions, including year-on-year improvement initiatives.

5) Lead , manage and influence projects to successful completion

6) Evaluate LCC Suppliers, their capability and long term viability, conduct audit and develop them by working with R&D.

7) Implement and successfully lead continues improvement initiatives with the key suppliers ( cost saving, service lead times, quality)

8) Develop with global sourcing measurements and KPI's to truck continues improvement opportunities and initiatives.

9) Interacts with senior management at existing and new LCC suppliers, building solid relationships so as to advantageously influence their collaboration in providing innovative / technology breakthrough products to support Global R&D in their new RI development

10) Support Avon Shanghai R&D centre on current and new projects on Sourcing front

11) Work with Logistics to identify optimal supply chain route from LCC into NA, EMEA, LATAM

12) Track sourcing project progress against budget and targets, and periodically provide low cost country sourcing status report-out to management.

13) Serve as direct liaison between sourcing and other cross functional AP groups: R&D, Quality , Supply Chain , Manufacturing , Finance

Prerequisites and skills

§ At least a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or equivalent ; Professional education in Purchasing is an advantage

§ At least 5 years of professional experience in Procurement or Supply Chain Management in chemical industry

§ Skilled in all Procurement process disciplines.

§ Able to work in diverse environments and adhere to highest ethical standards

§ Strong leadership and can work with minimum supervision and under pressure

§ Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills

§ Good command of English and Chinese both in oral and written.

§ Familiar with Customs related laws, regulations and operations in AP countries and have a good understanding of international customs related laws and regulations is a plus

§ Experience in supplier qualification and development

§ Experience in warehousing, transportation, and import/export logistics is a plus

§ Ability to identify business opportunities and appropriate risk mitigation strategies, ability to work effectively in cross functional and virtual team.
