1.Establish Purchasing Strategy for assigned commodities
2.Supplier Market Survey
3.Locate and recommend new suppliers, based on Automotive Industry key standards
4.Research China manufacturing footprint and applicable commodities suitable for supply to JV
5.Issue RFQ (Request for Quotation) packages to select suppliers and ensure timely response
from suppliers, according
to the Purchasing Strategy
6.Initial review of robustness of quote from suppliers, review and assist in negotiations of best-in
class piece price and
vendor tooling costs
7.Support finance and business office about cost saving from PP side (Production Purchasing)
8.Support STA (Supplier Technical Assistance) function in areas including supplier site evaluation
and qualification process
of suppliers
9.Support PD (Product Development) function as and when required in evaluating potential
suppliers and providing an
interface between supplier and PD teams
10.Presentation of key supplier date to support Purchasing, STA & PD sourcing decisions, such as
quality performance,
level of quality accreditation, technology/process capability and Design Development capability
1.Commercial acumen and negotiation experience
2.Ability to analyse total business case for sourcing, on a total cost basis incl. R&D, tooling,
investment and logistic cost
3.Strong communication skills
4.Fluency in English and Mandarin
5.Degree in a Business/Commercial discipline
6.Presentation skills
7.Automotive industry working experience(c.2+ years)
8.The ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision when necessary to deliver key
objectives.
