KEY JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
? Ensure that the processes used to manufacture products are capable of ensuring that the products are compliant to customer and internal requirements
? Ensure that manufacturing processes are adequately documented to ensure consistent and robust process control with due consideration to the operator skill set required to follow the requirements
? Develop and improve processes as assigned by your direct manager, to improve labour or asset utilization or product performance
? Recommend product design changes to improve labour or asset utilization or product performance via the formal change control system
ROLE OBJECTIVES
? For all assigned processes and products, product manufacturing can be consistently and repeatedly validated as producing compliant product
? Seek to improve manufacturing efficiency and product performance Validate proposed process and products changes through robust and rigorous evaluation
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Define and document all assembly and test process for assigned products
o All products should have comprehensive and accurate documentation to reflect the manufacturing process, design constraints and quality requirement. (A design authority and quality engineer's input will be required and will approve the resultant documents)
o Generic processes should be specifically and accurately defined to minimize duplication
o Specific product instructions should make effective and accurate use of generic instructions
o Production documentation to be authorized to verify that they represent suitable and capable manufacturing processes
2. Develop manufacturing jigs and fixtures and their verification procedures
o All test jigs should be fully defined and documented and include the procedure for verification
o All assembly jigs should be fully defined and documented and include the procedure for verification
o Care and maintenance of all production equipment should be documented for your assigned manufacturing area
3. Ensure all assigned products are production worthy prior to product launch
o BOM's, and all manufacturing documentation should all be completed prior to production launch
o All jigs and tooling should be fully evaluated and made ready
4. Control new product introduction
o Assume overall responsibility for managing new product introductions as assigned
o Design a process flow for new products to optimise product efficiency
o Yields should be reviewed for new products as well as build and test rates against expectations
o Ensure trainers have adequate understanding to train others
o New product "post mortems" to be carried out and documented
5. Maximise assembly and test efficiency for products
o Support improvement programs aimed at improving product efficiency
o Develop manufacturing processes to reflect demand variations as required
o Control vendor approvals or any other product or process change evaluations being carried out in production
o Contribute to the investigation and root cause resolution of production issues
Key Organizational Relationships
? Direct reporting to technical support manager
? Peer level working relationship with design engineers, production supervisors, buyer/planners and sourcing personnel
