职位描述
Your role as a merchandiser will include:
Primary Responsibilities:
Supplier Management
· Build up and maintain strong relationship with suppliers
· Good negotiation skill to get best price/MOQ and all the claim compensation
· Continuously improve payment terms by using good communication skill
· Independently solving of issues making proactive suggestions to engage relevant departments/ people to resolve
· Support assistant merchandiser closely monitor supplier production schedules and shipment performance
· Regular review supplier strategy with buyers and make sure each category has major, minor supplier in place
· Make sure all the new suppliers to sign the Made T&C before business start
New Product Develop and Critical Path Management
- Once receiving brief from buyer, digest all the details to make sure fully clearly understand buyer request before sending inquiry to supplier
- Must have confidentiality agreement in place while sending brief
- Place sample order timely and agree with supplier key milestone dates to meet launch expectation
- Hand in hand review sample with PD team to check all details against drawing. Make sure product dimensions, structure, fabric, finish, comfort, proportion is right
- Proactively work with supplier, PD, PQT find solution if any issue been identified
- Monitor PD issue sample report timely to obtain feedback from UK
- Tracking progress of new development closely and keep all team in China and UK informed if anything affect original agreed timely
- Proactively seeking solution from supplier in line with buyer request. Firmly holding supplier accountable to agreed dates
- Update weekly tracker with all the accurate details and send to buying team on time to make sure weekly meeting run through productively
Buying Trip
· Pre-visit supplier to check all amendments are done waiting for buyer sign off. New supplier making sure collect all the documentation sign back such as T&C, sharp&blade policy, timber regulation ect
· Coordinate relevant department and arrange itinerary logically and cost effectively. Guide assistant booking tickets, hotels, arrange transportation correctly.
· Prepare buying pack include all the essential information such as: supplier KPI, drawing, briefs, quotes
· Make sure have kick off / wrap up meeting in place to go through trip plan and agree trip follow up action plan
· Take face to face opportunity, build up strong personal relationship with buyer
Trade Fair Visit
· Attend trade fair before buyer arrive and work out best route to guide buyer later
· Obtain the pass for buyers and mark out easiest ways to register
· Have first selection in terms of new suppliers before buyer arrive
New Supplier Sourcing
· Through internet sourcing, fair visit or own network, proactively source new supplier to meet Made strategy briefs, new material, techniques for buyer to consider
· Introduce clearly to new vendors about Made standard to ensure they are fully complying before business started
· Collection evaluation part 1 as first step and then invite PQT together to conduct fty audit
· Confirm supplier suitability with SH GM and QM
Team Training & Successor Development(apply merchandisers who have assistant)
· Mentor and coach assistant effectively through on job training
· Demonstrate as good example for assistant to follow
· Helps to recruits calibers team member when vacancy appears
· Conduct annual performance review with assistant
WHAT YOU WILL NEED?
· Four (4) years degree in international trade, supply chain management or business management from a qualified university
· Minimum five (5) years work experience managing suppliers for a trading company/ buying office in Asia
· Minimum four (4) years work experience in the outdoor furniture/solid wood furniture category
· Proficient in English, both written and verbal
· Solid knowledge of ERP systems and logic, specifically supply chain ERP modules
· Possesses extensive supplier negotiation skills and strategies
· Highly organized with strong task follow-up capabilities
· Strong inter-personal, communication and negotiation skills
· Continuous quick learner and open to change
· Possesses ability to create, improve and follow work processes
· Good team player and willing to cooperate with cross function department
