General Responsibilities:

Based out of Shenzhen or Hong Kong, the Industrial Design Manager will build and lead the Asia based Industrial Design team and is responsible for design and development of high quality Tooled and Cut & Sew mobile device case products. You are the key window of contact to our U.S. based Industrial Design team, acting as the bridge between the two teams, synchronizing concurrent alignment on design and brand languages are assured. You will work closely with Product Managers, Program Managers and Engineering team across the globe to meet the product development objectives and timelines set under Belkin's standard. In addition, you will support marketing efforts by creating renderings and presentation images of products for sales presentation purposes. This position holds both hands-on as well as managerial responsibilities.

Since this is a new team, you will also be asked to setup processes and equipment necessary to establish a self-sustainable small design team.


Specific responsibilities:

? Lead design alignment communication with U.S. based Industrial Design team
? Establish design guidelines and standards. Assure design consistency
? Review direct reports design work and guide them towards optimal industrial design
? Maintain processes and equipment needed to sustain the Design efforts
? Participate and product line plan development and PRD creation activities
? Keeping abreast on the market intelligence, competition, industry to ensure optimal industrial design value is achieved.
? Adhere to the established budgets and timelines as set by the Program Managers
? Maintain and evolve the Belkin brand through high quality industrial design.
? Develop products through conceptual sketching, 2D Renderings, 3D model studies and computer software.
? Concisely communicate with Engineering, Merchandisers, Developers and our suppliers and outsourced manufacturers to develop Belkin products to meet the standards.
? Support marketing efforts by creating renderings and presentation images of our products for sales presentations.
? Immersion in (2D &) 3D computer processes (Alias or other 3D software) & preparation of tech kits and preliminary documentation to create soft goods products for development in Asia.
? Travel to Belkin's manufacturers, US headquarter, or other locations to meet business needs.
? Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
? Understand and follow company rules and regulations.
? Perform all other duties as assigned and required.


Education and Experience Requirements:

? Degree in Industrial Design gained from reputable University or Tertiary Institution.
? Minimum of 8 years of proven experience in designing products
? Minimum 2 years of managerial experience
? Strong knowledge in injection molded plastic and Cut&Sew manufacturing processes
? Strong knowledge in decorative processes
? Experience working for a recognized global brand is a big plus.
? Excellent sketching and visual communication skills
? Solid proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, PowerPoint, Microsoft Office
? 3D CAD (Solidworks, Pro-E, Rhino...etc.) experience is required
? Ability to create photo-realistic renderings using 3D software (i.e Hypershot)
? Strong project planning and budgeting experiences
? Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills
? Fluency in both written and verbal English and Mandarin skills
