GENERAL MISSION:

    

Based on Auchan Marketing and Ethic Rules, the engineer ensures the efficient and timely creation and / or modification of given packaging range.

    

He takes care of the visual coherence of his packaging. By his actions, the Packaging Engineer greatly contributes to the attractiveness of Auchan's offer and hence the customers' loyalty

    

He creates and develops effective designs to create packaging that fits to market codes, respects company CSR rules, is functional and cost effective. This involves generating ideas and concepts, testing different designs, working with suppliers during the manufacturing process, and reviewing the efficiency of the final packaging.

    

    

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    

    

Based on China and France packaging specialists / designers inputs:

    

§ He pilots services providers and / or suppliers to create or modify the packaging dimensions and design on given products ranges in line with Auchan's commitments regarding environment and sustainability.

    

§ He works in projects mode with many people involved. He guarantees the planning regarding the packaging die-line and volume modification. He strictly follows the validation process.

    

§ Together with the supplier, he supports France's Packaging designer in the tuning and validation of their "made in China" samples.

    

§ Collaborate with multiple teams both within and external to the organization to develop cost effective new packaging designs as well as maintain / update existing components

    

§ Good understanding of different packaging material, include plastic, paper pulp, corrugated paper, blister etc. and eco-friendly packaging solutions

    

§ He closely follows the development of private labels products and packaging together with the packaging specialist, the product manager, and the suppliers.

    

§ As an experienced person, he trains and coaches junior members of the team if any.

    

§ He ensures the optimization of the palletization and takes it into account to define the dimensions and the volume of the packaging.

    

§ He takes into account the final client: global customer journey including unboxing experience to define and promote new packaging.

    

§ He is a source of proposals to apply and develop new packages.

    

§ He cooperates with the sourcing team and do analysis on packaging cost

    

§ He assistant French compliance team to collect and analyze annual packaging data

    

. Participate in the selection process and evaluation of Packaging providers under FSC certification this is not a recurring point of the mission, that's why I place it at the end  

    

    

TECHNICAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE

    

- Knowledge of computer and mechanical design tools to create packaging products

    

- knowledge of packaging equipment / machinery capabilities

    

- Knowledge of shipping test methods

    

- Creativity and problem-solving skill for overcoming a design's potential obstacles.

    

- Great communicators who work well as part of a team and can spot potential pitfalls in a design.

    

    

§ Education Background:

    

- Degree: Bachelor degree or above

    

- Major: Design / Packaging

    

    

§ Minimum Experience:

    

- 5 to 8 years experience in the field of packaging and design of mass consumption products.

    

- Minimum 2-3 years studying / working in or for a Western country or European Corporation.

    

- Proven experience developing multiple types of packaging including corrugated and paperboard retail cartons, inner support structures, flexible packaging, plastic clamshells and blisters, and transport packaging

    

- Familiar with graphic design software, include Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, etc.

    

- Family with Google suites, as well as Google sheet (or Microsoft excel)
