JOB DESCRIPTION

- As a member of a diversified and energetic HW team, the candidate will work not only with local teams but may also with a global HW project/teams in wide products lines, covering DCI, SDH/OTN, packet network application, etc.

- Work with HW, SW, system architecture team (even directly with PLM team) to define the project feature and support architecture and feasibility study as HW representative.

- Take key design role responsible for HW deliverable, from the initial HW design documentations, schematics, layout review and supervision, NPI support, HW design validation, co-working with all the other cross function teams (SW, SA, validation team, etc) until project release into mass production.

- Take part in some necessary HW sustaining work for those delivered projects.

- Take part and contribution in the HW design competence optimization activities, like various technical training and forums, etc. 

  

REQUIREMENTS

- Electrical Engineering or relevant in BSEE degree with 7+ years working experience or MSEE degree with 5+ years working experience, major in board circuits designs is a plus.

- Concrete understanding of the high-speed board design flow and process covering design specification, schematics, layout, NPI support and other necessary interaction with cross function teams until release.

- Very good understanding in regular design areas, like high speed Serdes, PLL, CDRs circuits, large scale ASICs/units and its peripheral, etc. 

- Very good design capability with regular EDA tools (Mentor, Cadence, etc) to fulfil board designs, including schematics, simulation review and guidance, layout supervision, specifically in boards with dense power, signal integrity challenging condition.

- Very good hands on debug capability in board bring up/validation and trouble shootings with regular analysers like high speed oscilloscope, TDRs, etc.

- Positive and persistent spirit with excellent team work mindset.

- Desirable skills:

   Design background in OTN or packet based telecommunication equipment is a plus.

   Knowledge and application in SI and PI simulation tool (Ansys Siwave/Sigrity DC, HFSS, ADS, etc) is a plus.

   Other simulation tool application, like PLL, power rail schematics simulation is a plus. 

   Design capability of CPLD/FPGA logic is a plus.

   DC-DC or AC-DC power design and debug skillset is a plus.
