Key responsibilities:
- Lead a group of engineers (optical, electrical, mechanical, product) to design innovative, cost effective optical sub-assemblies (OSA) for high speed transceiver and transponders.
- Full accountability on the design quality of the products in his group. Perform design review at each Milestone, make sure the design of the products meets the design rule and other requirement.
- Plan and Lead the design &development of optical sub- assemblies (OSA) with basic elements including semiconductor lasers, lenses, receptacle, fiber etc.
- Supervise the group personnel. Responsible for utilizing Talent Management strategy and tools to assess, develop, and improve the talent competencies. Set and review personal objectives and individual development plan. Recruit, coach and provide training to his team members. Reward & recognize staff for retention, motivation, and development purposes.
- Work with the Marketing, Program and Process teams to develop the "Right" products. Provide inputs on technology and resource required. Keep product roadmap updated.
- Follow and continuously improve Design Quality & other processes relevant to his team. Implement the Design Tool such as DFSS, Simulation, to improve the design efficiency & product design quality.
Requirements:
- 8+ years experiences in Product development, prefer in optical sub- assemblies (TOSA, ROSA) development related.
- Previous experience in DWDM, TO, GPON or 40G product development would be a promote plus
- Strong technical competence in product development of optical ,mechanical and thermal parts. Have in depth knowledge in mechanical, thermal and optical, both in theory and applications.
- Strong leadership role in product development environment. Being able to lead his team to development various products per request.
- Strong leadership and management skill. Be able to effectively manage his resource and develop the competence. Good communication skill (in both Chinese and English) and people skill.
- Familiar with product development process. Being capable to challenge the technical specification, propose technical solution to meet the product Specification, and provide guidance in resolving technical issues.
- Be familiar with new product introduction (NPI) processes and be involved in the phases of concept, prototype, development and manufacturing of the products.
- Willing to travel oversea
