2. CONTRIBUTION OF THE FUNCTION TO THE ORGANIZATION STRATEGY

   Offers total solutions customer tailored for the process and utility related industry by design, realization and follows up of the mechanical/process part within industrial projects.

3. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

   
   3.1 Mechanical

   -Defines the mechanical/process concept from the functional requirements

   -Deliver necessary information to the mechanical project collaborators or mechanical design company

   -Verification and acceptation of the P&ID’s and mechanical design, which come back from the mechanical project collaborators or mechanical design company

   -Responsible for the right choice of all necessary equipment and instrumentation and responsible to make datasheets, equipment and instrumentation lists

   -Responsible for the As built P&ID’s and mechanical drawings after execution and commissioning

   -Works out the technical concept

   -Works on more complex orders

   
   3.2 Project
   
   - Manages independently bigger projects with an important mechanical part
   - Prepares the work for a junior-medior engineer and follows this up

   -Transcends the project and goes from there in search of re-usable methods or processes from previous projects

   - Follow up of the product evolution and regulations in the own field of expertise (PED, HACCP, EHEDG,…). Apply those evolutions in the assigned projects and carry them out to the other engineers.

   - Consolidate experience from different projects with as goal to improve the methods and processes

   - Set up ‘good practices’ for the field of expertise in which you are specialized and carry them out to the other engineers

   - Capable to estimate the impact of the own technical concept on the other disciplines (electrical, automation) and coordinates with the other project coordinators.
   
   3.3 Site Supervision
   
   - Provides the necessary information to the internal or external supervisor

   - Perform the necessary research works on the site
   - Supervision of the site: follow the proper execution of the works, and if necessary takes corrective measures

   - Decides which mechanical tests (pressure tests, …) are necessary to fulfill at the quality system of Actemium/end customer and control of the test reports

   - End responsibility over the quality, timing and budget of the executed works
   - Ensures that construction activities are performed safely
   
   

   3.4 Safety
   
   - Integrates the safety guide lines of Actemium and the clients in the preparatory work
   - Ensures a safe working environment, during the execution of works
   - Takes appropriate measures in case safety incidents occur

   3.5 Budget and quotations
   
   - Controls the scope of the project and signals possible deviations
   - Supervision of mechanical subcontractors on the site

   - Responsible to make the budget of the mechanical part of the project

   - Defines risks when making quotations and calculates them

   - Studies tender documents within his expertise

   - Preparation of (parts of) quotations and estimations within his expertise as support for the commercial collaborators

   - End responsibility of the quality of the mechanical suppliers and this within the budget of a specific project

   - Detect and calculation of extra works

   - Enquiry and evaluation of quotations of mechanical suppliers in the framework of a specific project

   - Order materials for a specific project in corporation with ‘Purchase’

   - Order of subcontractors for the mechanical execution for a specific project in corporation with ‘Purchase’
   - Preparation of contract management for mechanical execution in the framework of a specific project in corporation with ‘Purchas’
   
   

4. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

   Project Leader: Can externally act as project leader for projects with mainly a mechanical character and takes here for the end responsibility

   Discipline Coordinator: Can act as discipline coordinator for multi discipline projects and takes here for the end responsibility for the part within the own expertise

5. MANAGING DUTIES

   - Guides and monitors (junior and medior) mechanical engineers and site collaborators technical and functional and supports them from the own technical expertise.

   - Supports and guides the subcontractor on the site.

   - Coaches mechanical engineers (juniors and mediors) with as goal to let them evaluate in their job

1. NECESSARY COMPETENCIES and KNOWLEDGE

Education

Bachelor in a technical field University degree in mechanical/process engineering

Experience (years and type)

Minimum 6 years'experience as mechanical engineer within industrial projects or other relevant experience

Languages

Chinese: Mother tongue

nglish: good understanding and ability to express
