1. BASIC FUNCTION:

The candidate is expected to conduct specific geological studies & analyses related to hydrocarbon exploration or reservoir characterization, as well as prepare appropriate reports.

2. SCOPE:  

Report to Director of Beijing Research Center. Work under the general direction.

perform specific tasks related to hydrocarbon exploration or reservoir characterization. Candidate as a co-worker with more experienced geologists may perform advanced projects. The candidate will also carry out specific geological studies which are required to solve precise Exploration problems.

3. PRINCIPAL CONTACTS:

Internal:

Dhahran EXPEC- Advanced Research Center and Saudi Aramco Asia Company.

External:

Relevant geological enterprises, research institutes and universities in Asia.

4.  PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

• Assist with investigations into geological problems related to hydrocarbon exploration and/or reservoir characterization.

• Assist in geological analyses of seismic as well as other related geophysical data.

• Conduct, under supervision, advanced geological analyses of geophysical data in order to efficiently exploit their contribution for accurate subsurface mapping.

• Prepare, under supervision, reports and oral presentations of the outcome of the geological studies for review by management.

• Attend meetings and conferences that contribute significantly to advancing the individual's expertise.

• Perform other miscellaneous duties as directed by the Manager.

5. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:         

 

• Bachelor degree in geology with 5 years of relevant research experience. Alternatively, 2 years’ experience for candidates with Master, or fresh Ph.D. graduate in geology.

• Have substantial expertise in few of the geological disciplines used in hydrocarbon exploration and reservoir characterization.

• The experience may include hands-on technical work, such as basin and numerical modeling.

• Good communication skills in English (writing and speaking).
