Key Focus:

? Implement Technical Requirements of Business Objectives.

? Contact customers to understand their technology and needs which can be translated into ALB product-based solutions.

? Identify and analyze market needs and technology opportunities and translate into specific ALB product capabilities.

? Initiate customer interest in ALB products by supplying reliable and relevant technical information and data.

? Guide customers in the proper selection and use of ALB products.

? Product Stewardship.

? Monitor product quality and its impact on use and sales of products.

? Promote successful launch of new product developments within region.

? Intelligence related to competitive products.

? Establish Albemarle's regional reputation for technical expertise and lay groundwork for further expansion of effort.



Accountabilities:

? Identification of new products, new customers and new applications for existing products and/or customers.

? Provide technical expertise in focus area to internal & external customers as a working member of the global Albemarle Polymer Additives R&D team.

? Plan experiments and direct lab efforts to support technical projects needed to increase sales.

? Work with manufacturing to maintain or improve quality standards of products in focus area.

? Drive growth based on technical expertise.

? Know how and why customers use our products.

? Establish liaisons with Asian technical community in focus area.



Responsibilities:

? Participate in new product development activities based on customer requirements

? Provide information and samples to customers to encourage trial use of product, to ensure success in use, and to ensure safe handling of materials

? Resolve customer product performance complaints and solve customer related problems

? Maintain technical relationships with appropriate contacts at key customers

? Communicate quality technical issues to internal & external customers

? Maintain product quality and customer contact databases

? Coordinate efforts with the global Albemarle polymer additives R&D team.

? Monitor and maintain information on competitive products

? Keep product specifications and technical data sheets up to date

? Be safe on and off the job and ensure that all activities under supervision are performed safely



Requirements:

? BS (or higher) degree in polymer science, chemistry or chemical engineering

? Minimum 3 years working in a polymer development lab or in polymer technical service; experience with polymer compounding with various additives including antioxidants

? Current or very recent experience in the Chinese polymer compounding market

? Operation of polymer compounding equipment and various specified analytical equipment

? General project management experience resulting in successful completion of project goals

? Development and completion of technical service projects involving the selection and application of the appropriate process parameters, use of information from a range of different sources, and support of customers

? Sales and/or market development experience with direct customer contact is desired

? Willingness to travel up to 35% of time
