GENERAL SUMMARY:
The test engineer performs exemplary work in ones domain. The test engineer regularly coaches employees and provides project-level and possibly company-wide leadership. The test engineer is recognized as a major resource in the knowledge area. Usually 4 years of experience. Work scope as below:
The test engineer will participate whole life cycle of application development (requirement, design, implementtation,...) to conduct verification & validation activities in different stages, such as unit test, integration test, system test, regression test, performance test and acceptance test. One will define and implement black-box, gray-box and white-box strategy as well as manual and automated testing suites for core technologies, products and applications from front-end and back-end.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Duty 1 - Project Responsibilities - 80%
In charge of the following tasks:
- test planning, estimation & strategy
- conduct test requirement review & analysis
- develop test design
- test environment setup
- develop test script
- execute test and record result
- defect tracking and management
- report test result

2. Duty 2 - Team Responsibilities - 10%
Responsible for the following tasks:
- Act as the subject matter expert of assigned business domain, methodology and technology
- Take technical leadership to improve the overall testing efficiency and quality
Assist the following tasks:
- Cross functional communication & customer interface
- Deliverables & progress for the testing activities
- Develop periodical status report
- Maintain project binder (testing part)
- Participate in the change control board
- Collect and report project metrics
3. Duty 3 -Organizational Responsibilities - 10%
Contribute & support for the following tasks:
- Team recruiting
- Team training program
- Business development & marketing/sales support
- Continuous process and technology improvement
- Knowledge sharing and knowledge repository
- Testing part of the CMMi5 certification
4. Duty 4 - Common
- Maintain high level of utilization, productivity and quality according to company standard
- Adhere to company policies and procedures
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1) Competencies: Skills, knowledge, & abilities
Functional Competencies:
Qualify for the following:
- Be very familiar with at least 1 domain/platform specific testing solutions (Manual, Automation, Performance)
- Experienced in test planning, strategy, estimation
- Experienced in test project management and reporting
- Very experienced in test requirement analysis & test design
- Experienced in test data preparation using professional test data preparation tools
- Experienced in setup & maintain medium complexity test environment
- Very experienced in at least 1 test automation tools (HP-Mercury, IBM-Rational, Borland, Compuware, Automated-QA...)
- Familiar with new technology (Agile Testing, Model Driven Testing)
- Experienced in design & implementing test automation framework using mainstream commercial tools or open source technologies
- Familiar with software development process such as Unified Process/Iterative/Agile
- Be familiar with software testing process
- Knowledge of architecture design and business analysis
- Experience in development tools/scripting
- Experience in SQL
- Experience in XML
- Experience in B/S or C/S testing
Good to have skills:
- Experience in mainstream platform such as Unix, Linux and Microsoft

About 3-5 years of QA experience with BS or CS in CS in a commercial software/Internet company
