Alexander Street Press is an award winning electronic publisher,providing web/mobile based innovative products to academic and publiclibraries worldwide. Highly regarded in our field, we produce online collections of textual, audio and video materials, and create tools to enable academics to find, use and perform research on these materials.

As a member of our Quality Assurance Team you will plan and conduct activities concerned with the quality assurance of software and systems. The QA Engineer will identify, analyze, and document problems with web
applications following an established QA methodology.


Responsibilities:

• Evaluates and tests new web applications according to business and functional requirements.
• Composes functional/content test case.
• Effectively tracking issues in details.
  
• Performs quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements.
• Develops new approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance activities.
  
• Communicates significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provides recommended process improvements to management.
  
• Prepares reports to communicate involvement and results of quality assurance activities.
  

Requirements:

• Required: Major in English, passed TEM-8.
  
• Required: Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and team work skill to be able to collaborate with remote UK/US colleagues smoothly.
  
• Required: Can flexibly adjust working time to fit with the working time of remote UK/US teams from different time zones.
• Required: Good understanding on research databases. Has experience of
  using library reference databases in school and can explain which ones
  work better for research / teaching. Nice to have research/translation
  experiences in western literature or academic books.
• Required: Detail oriented and works with a high degree of accuracy.
• Required: Patience and perseverance for tracking the problem till the reason has been exposed.
  
• Required: Excellent in manipulate web sites and office tools, nice to have knowledges on HTML and web page design.
  
• Nice to have: Research and translation experiences in western literature or academic books.
  
• Nice to have: Working experience in publishing or academic library.
  
• Nice to have: Working experience in QA.
