Role & Responsibilities:

 

Job Definition (Key Purpose of the Job):

 

Be a part of the Vans Family driving the brand image and our promise of enabling creative expression in China. This role is responsible for maintaining a high level of creative consistency with global brand strategy, visual guidelines, look and feel and in market translation of messaging through all channels of communication. The role will ensure clear connectivity between with the APAC Creative and China Marketing teams. Must possess a strong understanding of the Vans brand and demonstrate ability to transform marketing strategies into effective creative in market solutions with a deep knowledge of local nuances. It is critical that this role drive global consistence and locally relevant content and assets. This role requires a heavy focus on digital creative, e-commerce and consumer behavior.

 

Key Result Areas :

 

General

• All-round creative, with exceptional skills to bring ideas to life across multiple creative categories including digital, advertising, graphic design and content.

• Create on-brand locally relevant creative assets, adapting frameworks provided by Global / APAC Creatives and integrate locally when necessary.

• Take part with APAC Creative team in brain-storming, presentation, design development, execution and reviewing.

• Be the bridge for Creative Team in China and APAC. Share best practices and rationale with APAC Creative Team.

• Download Global and Regional creative frameworks from APAC Creative / Creative Services, conduct seasonal share-out session with China Marketing and other functions with and share assets.

• Significantly improve Vans visual experience and awareness by upgrading perception to reflect the brand’s positioning and differentiation from competitors.

• Lead any China partners when producing content out of house.

• Regularly gather and share market feedback and results to gain insights on creative assets effectiveness.

• The China Senior Designer will have with have dual reporting lines to APAC Creative

  & Sr. Marketing Manager China.

Various

• Co-ordinate with Creative Services on assets distribution in country.

• Liaise directly with third-party partner and services for outsourced capabilities such as photography, film and digital production.

• Continue to explore cool, big, new ideas and inspiration.

  Experience

   

  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and /or abilities required for the individual to be successful in this position.

   

• Graduate level or above in Art and Design related subject.

• A deep understanding of the Vans brand and subculture.

• 4 years plus experience in the design field.

• Strong Mac-literacy: Adobe Creative Suite a must; interactive software skills as well as experience with CMS platforms is beneficial.

• Language skills: Mandarin and English communication fluency.

• Strong planning, organizational and implementation skills.
