Fabric Sourcing Manager - Shanghai

Overview of the position:

The Fabric Sourcing Manager is responsible for developing a strong fabric mill base in China and other Asia regions. This includes researching appropriate mills, developing new fabric qualities at the best price to ensure the scale and sustainable growth of PVH.

Major Responsibilities :
- Identify and research/ develop pre-season work, find new mills, pre-season trends and innovation. This includes researching any new finishes, fibers or chemicals offered by mills in the region

- Work directly with brand and product development teams to understand future development needs

- Assist in building effective sourcing capabilities with targeted mills to cover new trends and seasonal collections in the region. Implement sustainable sourcing strategies as advised by the Global Supply Chain Raw Material objective

- Aligning development with mill matrix and ensure developments are able to sustain the required level of performance and at the best price

- Support PVH New York team and other offshore offices on fabric issues in the region

- Build and maintain a fabric library of materials

Qualification :
- University graduate in Textile Technology/ Fashion or related discipline
- 7 years or above fabric merchandising or related working experience

- Thorough knowledge of knits, woven, yarn, dyeing and finishing
- Good in both spoken and written English with a minimum level of 6 in CET

- Creative and technically savvy enough to respond to the requirements of newness and innovation as well as development of the brand teams' needs
- Good communication and negotiation skills

- Occasional travel to mills

- Flexible, adaptable and can work under pressure

- Previous working experience in US buying office an advantage
