Job Title: Regional Trade Compliance Manager, Asia Pacific

Division: Operations

BU/Function: Supply Chain

Location: Shanghai, China

Major Responsibilities:

Develop and execute regional procedures and processes aligned with global policies and best practices to ensure trade regulatory compliance

HTS classification and export control review of hazardous goods imported or exported

Regional Import Compliance

Regional Export Compliance

Regional Trade Security program (AEO)

Regional trade compliance Subject Matter Expert (SME).

SME for regional regulations related to SAP, e.g. SAP GTS system requirements.

Monitors trade regulations via a subscription services, government publications and/or trade seminars to keep current knowledge of relevant trade regulations that may impact global supply chain operations.

Provide governance and consultancy to day-to-day operation to ensure compliance in all customs and trade related areas.

Initiate and implement the projects to ensure business enjoys the benefit from applicable FTA agreement and duty saving opportunities wherever possible.

Own the Customs and Trade related work process and create training programs / materials to promote awareness in the business and integrated supply chain organization.

Establish and maintain a governance framework, including but not limited to internal audit, external broker screening and auditing etc.

Be the primary contact for regional Customs Authorities

Member of Global Compliance Council

COMMUNICATION / CONTACTS:

Internal: Global Compliance COE, Product Safety and Compliance Corporate and regional HSE teams, Sales and Segment Personnel, Logistics team and Plant Operations.

External: Customs Officials, brokers, customers

REQUIREMENTS:

Education, Experience and Technical Skills:

Bachelor’s degree or above

Regulatory Compliance subject matter expertise, with min 5 years of hands-on experience to deal with Customs and Trade cases.

Experience in chemical industry is preferred.

Ability to interpret and apply multiple regulatory agency requirements
