Description: Exciting opportunities awaits you at Micron’s fast growing Shanghai Memory System Development (MSD) team. As a SSD (Solid State Drive) Firmware Testing Engineer (高级固件测试工程师/高级嵌入式软件测试工程师), you will work with an exceptionally talented core R&D team based in Shanghai, to test and validate NAND-based mass storage products in the consumer and enterprise segments. You will also have the opportunity to work closely with fellow US based product engineers, system hardware design engineers, and Flash memory design engineers, to solve cross-functional design issues. Responsibilities: - Leadership role in developing comprehensive and accurate product test plans (black box and white box testing) with minimal direction, attention to details, patience and passion
strive to ensure maximum test cases coverage.- Leadership role in applying creative software engineering skills to a mixture of new and existing technologies to increase firmware testing automation.- Develop forward-thinking test software, tool technology, and testing methodology for integration into validation environment.- Train and develop junior test engineers in testing methodology, and technical know-how, and core testing competency.- Lead junior testing engineers to successful, on time execution of test plans, work with development team to ensure timely product delivery and qualification.- Coordinate and lead large scale testing activities that involve multiple test engineers that could span across multiple sites.- Providing input to firmware developers regarding new and existing features, product reliability and performance issues, risk assessment for mass production.- Oversee bug reporting and tracking, coordinate test engineers to analyze failures to find root cause, and follow-up with engineering team to resolution. Reproducing Technical Support cases when elevated to Firmware Development and providing insight into the cause Identifying work around solutions Qualifications:Successful candidates for this position shall have:- At least five years or equivalent experience in embedded firmware testing, with multiple successful products that entered mass production.- Extensive hands-on experience with functional and regression testing of products embedded software (firmware), deep knowledge in creation of product test plans and configuring test scenarios for embedded software development.- Highly motivated, detail oriented, systematic and methodical approach in firmware testing, follow through every bug from discovery to resolution.- Ability to work and communicate effectively in a team, able to multitask effectively in fast-paced working environment.- Knowledge of mass storage system, Flash memory (NAND / NOR), SATA / SAS protocol, RAID, Drivemaster, Flexstart scripting, automated testing experience strong plus.- Knowledge of SSD flash translation layer, wear leveling, garbage collection optional but strong plus.
