Supplier Quality Manager

 

Abstracts:

To be China Quality Director for a fast-growing US auto parts company. Must have 10 years+ metal casting experience, including some leadership roles, and preferably some experience in surface finishing (chrome plating, anodizing, ecoating etc.)  Some sourcing and new vendor evaluation experience preferred.

 

Reports to CEO and Lead Manufacturing Engineer in USA.

 

 Position Requirements / Qualifications

 

1.    10-15 years experience with die casting and CNC machining. Needs to have a good technical knowledge of Aluminum alloy materials, preferably A-360 and A356.

 

2.    Knowledge and experience writing and implementing PPAP, APQP, FMEA, SPC. Need a working knowledge of AUTOCad.

 

3.    Must employ good methodology to evaluate suppliers and use a rating system, work on Continuous Improvement, TS 16949 requirements.

 

4.    Proven Experience in problem-solving especially with regard to Primary Mould Casting issues.

 

5.    Intermediate to fluency level of Written/Spoken English, Native Fluency in Chinese.

 

6.    Personal attributes: Self-confident, excellent communication skills, Good leadership, always pro-active, likes to solve problems, hard-working, enjoys their job, high sense of accountability, high level of ethics and honesty.

 

7.    Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining consistently high quality levels.

 

8.    Plants are in wider Shanghai region so must have access to car.

 

Position Description

 

1.    Co-ordinates with existing suppliers to upgrade quality control system. Should be able to contribute to o Process Quality control plan, devise new Product Checklists, training and work instructions for operators and inspectors.

2.    Track and record all corrective and preventive action status, be responsible for submitting QIRs/8Ds.

 

3.    In conjunction with China vendor partners will co-lead the launch of new programs. Will have key input on process design.

 

4.    Provide General Manager with up-to-date and accurate information with regard to any changes in processes employed at vendor partners including:  machine adjustments; new jigs/fixtures; new material testing; any process changes; personnel changes, etc.

 

5.    New Vendor evaluation especially in the Finishing/coating industry: Chrome plating, anodizing, e-coating, powder coating etc.

 

6.    Sourcing of products within casting and surface finishing industries.

7.    Should have car drive license.

 

8.    Other works assigned by USA General Manager.
