The Role:

Identifying and delivering the order intake from the defined Chinese market through:

？ Taking necessary actions to strengthen existing markets and identifies new market opportunities

？ Understanding customer organizations and analysis of customer needs

？ Intelligence on market commercial drivers (price and timing expectation, usual T&C) and expectations

？ Developing relationships within target customers at all levels including purchasing and product planning functions and identifying business opportunities, using good database of existing personal contacts

？ Develop Sales plans for the given market segments, with targeted and customized strategies

？ Presenting template proposals to targeted customers to work out quality answers to the customers RFQs

？ Significant support to Engine Product Group Chief/Principal Engineer and Engineering teams to develop clear proposals that meet customer needs and requirements

？ Presenting proposals to customers at senior levels and defining key scope / responsibilities and selling the value. Understanding when to introduce senior technical / PG teams to support the winning process

？ Significant support in:

- Negotiating commercial terms

- Obtaining purchase orders

- Customer and competitor analysis

- Supporting Engine PG VP in preparing order intake forecasts for budgeting

- Delivering order intake and commission budget year-on-year

The ideal candidate:

？ Experience of selling engineering services or products powertrain related (general vehicle also of interest as a background foundation) within the automotive industry.

？ Natural ability to develop business relationships with new clients / contacts and internal personnel

？ Ability to identify new business opportunities, develop exploitation plans and lead the implementation

？ Highly motivated and high level of resilience to cope with a rapidly changing business environment and demanding client requirements

？ Proven track record in delivering order intake targets

？ Exceptional technical and commercial communication skills both internally and with clients at all levels

？ Well developed presentation skills allowing the individual to generate new business opportunities through targeted presentations to customers

？ Strong commercial skills including negotiation and awareness of industry cost base

Proven knowledge of automotive / powertrain market in China, focus on Large Engines (marine, power generation, locomotive, Oil&Gas rig generators) Heavy Duty, OffRoad/Construction Equipment and Passenger Cars is required (at least one or two of the above), considering aspects such as:

- Key people in the industry

- Technological and market trends

- Development drivers

- Usual way of doing business

Qualifications:

？ Likely to be degree educated in an engineering or related discipline. Business qualification desirable.
