Job Purpose

To support all aspects of the commercial operations function.  Ensure that the function runs smoothly and efficiently to optimize the effectiveness of the sales and client relations resources in achieving the company’s revenue goals.  Assist the VP Commercial across a range of planning and business development activities.

 

Job Description

Enhance, communicate and implement upgraded Commercial team processes to ensure that the commercial team operates effectively. Actively participate on a day to day in these processes, to provide support across the commercial team. Execute projects that contribute to enhancing processes or support the VP Commercial in evolving the business.

 

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

?       Own the weekly sales management process. Ensure weekly commercial meetings and individual reviews take place and minute actions. Compile the weekly Commercial Team deck.

?       Work with individual members of the sales team to support preparation for their weekly review, challenge them on pipeline accuracy to ensure realistic and reliable representation of the forward pipeline is reflected at the individual reviews. Work with the VP Commercial to provide the weekly executive pipeline report 

?       Manage the Commercial area in SharePoint, ensure all client contracts are stored and access controlled appropriately and that all shared documents are updated

?       Support the commercial team on all aspects of proposals and contracting. Be the subject matter expert on terms and condition amendments and ensure all appropriate legal arrangements are in place to protect GBI’s business. Escalate legal issues that need senior or external input advice.

?       Oversee the contract chop process with the receptionist to ensure all contracts are correctly chopped, issued to clients and stored

?       Become an expert on SFDC and ensure GBI is using the tool in the most efficient and effective ways to support the business. Train the sales team and new joiners. Work with Finance to extract information for reporting

?       Work with the Sales Manager and Client Relations Manager to enhance processes that support their responsibilities e.g. Training, Renewals

?       Ensure sales support tools such as teleconference and Web Ex facilities are in place and appropriate for the team needs

?       Assist the VP Commercial across a range of activities to support the optimization of the commercial team - processes, planning, business development, forecasting etc.

?       On an on-going basis look for opportunities to improve and enhance commercial team processes and activities

 Key Competencies

?       Sound understanding of GBI’s business: value proposition, market positioning, operations and processes

?       Understanding of the sales process and how tools like SFDC can support the optimization of this process.

?       Hands on SFDC capability.

?       Good analytical capability, organizational and planning skills 

?       Ability to collaborate internally and build productive relationship with members of  the commercial team and other functions

?       Ability to interact with senior executives in the organization and understand the importance of keeping information they share confidential at all times

?       Solid understanding of the trends and issues impacting the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry in China

 

Minimum Education and Experience:

?       Excellent spoken and written Chinese and English

?       Self-motivated, able to work independently but also a strong team player and contributor within the organization

?       Excellent presentation and communication skills
