Drive technical Marketing and environmental sustainability ? Instrumental in driving technical excellence for Hebei region
? Based in Shanghai – China
About the role China is the largest market for Rio Tinto Iron Ore. RT China services the market in four different geographical segments made up of Hebei, Greater Northern, Yangtze River and Greater Southern Region. The northern province of Hebei, China’s dominant steel producing region is undergoing some remarkable transformation and revitalisation, especially in a bid to reduce emission and meet its environmental goals.
In continuing our decades’ long partnership to China’s industrial and economic growth, Rio Tinto is committed to provide our support to our customers in achieving their commercial and environmental goals. With that, we are now looking for a Specialist to lead technical marketing efforts for our iron ore products, with focus on Hebei region.
This is a great opportunity for a strong techno-commercial person who is passionate about achieving commercial and environmental sustainability through technical marketing.
Reporting to the Manager Technical Marketing – China, you will be:
? Leading technical engagements with customers across Hebei region
? Conducting regular assessment of Hebei environmental policy and advising its impact on Iron ore business and steel industry and market.
? Analysing customers’ inventory level and product usage model
? Analysing the positioning of RTIO products against other iron ores and scraps with models both in technologies and commercial ROI for the customers in Hebei region
? Providing timely advice on market and customer needs to help shape our mining and development tactics
? Providing practical knowledge of iron ore product use, to commercial and pricing teams.
? Work with commercial teams to achieve maximum sales revenues across all sales channels.
About you
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
? Relevant tertiary qualifications in a technical discipline including metallurgical/chemical/process/mining engineering.
? Strong knowledge of China iron and steel industry
? Strong knowledge of current and emerging needs of the industry ranging from technical products to environmental regulations etc.
? Strong knowledge of iron ore pricing, iron ore operations and steel making operations.
? Strong command of English language, verbal and written
It will also be beneficial if you have:
? Msc in a field related to iron making, steel making or iron ore/coal processing/mining
